I have had Sprint and Verizon... both were better than Cingular / now AT&T. I only got AT&T because of relatives I communicate with frequently in another state get the best coverage with it. Only stay because I got hooked on the rollover minutes. Coverage sucks in my home... I have to leave the phone by the door to reliably receive a call. Coverage is spotty in the house. No more than 1 bar anywhere in the house. Outside I can get reliable coverage between here and Detroit on I-75 with 3G available once you get near Wyandotte, though there are some spotty areas. Customer service and tech support is great though. If I could get rollover minutes and some coverage in the relatives state I would jump to another carrier in a hot second.
I live within 2.5 miles of a Verizon tower but still do not have reception in my house, outside of my house or in the street. They said it was my phone but my friend has a new Verizon phone and hers did not work either. But to be honest and fair to verizon, att&t, Sprint and tracfone all do not work here either. Maybe we should be looking into other causes... .like some of the many other towers that have been going up around here?
Absolutely soured with Cingular / ATT. Spotty reception in the area. No reception in buildings such as Meier's, Lowes, Krogers and my home. My brother recently changed from Cingular to Sprint. We compared "bars" in my kitchen (close to windows) he had 4 bars,I had one. Good thing my contract is over in two weeks.. Cingular / ATT -- I'm outta here!
Been with Sprint for almost two years now, when I lived in the Monroe area elm / maple blvd, coverage was great! Parents decided to relocate out in Maybee [though technically Monroe still for some reason] and there is almost NO coverage out there, as of 8 / 06. No signal, nothing. Once in a while I'll get digital or analog roaming, but other than that, nothing.
Cypress Pointe Estates - Phone rings indoors but cannot hear well or maintain connection. Must go outside or lean out upstairs window to maintain marginal connection. What good is free nights and weekends or lots of rollover minutes without a quality connection to use them?
dropped calls, garbeled calls and two way.indoors and out.Haven't found a good place in the county to get reception.Seems that the spots that were good yesterday are not as good today. It changes on a daily basis.I do not recommend Nextel service.
Sprint's reception is almost perfect throughout Monroe County. I've had Sprint for over 2 years and have never had a dropped call here. Indoor and outdoor coverage is great. There are a couple weak spots though. The area from the town of Ida all the way east to the fairgrounds / community college is a little weak with indoor coverage. Outside coverage is pretty good, but gets pretty weak when you go indoors.
Intermittant coverage east of I-75. Often phone rings, then call is dropped when I answer. Coverage is better west of I-75, but there are dead areas on Albain and Telegraph in Monroe.
