Since Alltel merger VZW service is amazing. Only 1 dropped call but that was in a tin can-of-a-building. I've never gotten no service, roaming, or even extended coverage. Everywhere I go has 3G, a real plus. I'm quite happy how much Verizon seems to care about their network. I'm in a very rural area yet the 3G is really, REALLY fast (3.0 Mbps fast on my aircard with them) only problem with Verizon is the pricing. They really like to nickel and dime you to death. I accidentally hit the mobile web shortcut, the right directional key (a very expensive button) and I was charged $2 even though I exited it immediately. I complained and they fixed it. Also the free activation if you order online is sketchy. My first bill had $35 activation for all 5 phones. I called and they said I had to pay it but they would credit me on my 3rd bill. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said they'd put it on my 2nd bill. I threatened to cancel (30 day guarantee) and they said only pay such and such an amount on your first bill, it'll show overdue on your second bill but don't worry sir we won't have collections call you. Guess who called a month later?

Excellent phone for fringe areas but Verizon's closest tower must be in Africa. They really need to improve availability outside major cities. I even use a repeater with a large yagi antenna 30 feet in the air on my home and it's still really bad! Come on Verizon!
