When I purchased my phone in December 2008, I had a strong 5 bars of reception with good 3G reception. Sometime in April 2009, my reception has dropped to 1 bar with no 3G reception. I get dropped calls often and can not get reliable service any where near my home. I do not get this problem in when I travel to other local areas, so it does not appear to be the phone.

Verizon has been lying to me since we signed the contract. They keep saying they bought some towers in the niles area and we would start getting good reception "soon". I've been hearing that for almost 2 years. The contract is almost up and we are changing carriers.

Why don't we still get service like Nextel since you bought them out? Now you get Sprint only--or charged for roaming--which the salesman never tells you--and where is the so called new tower in Niles for better reception, which the salesman told us. Sprint rips people off with the WE bought Nextel now you can clal whereever, combined servies, bah hum bug -- go to anyone but Sprint.

Bar None. in the michigan, Indiana,ohio, kentucky area i'm talking about off interstates and major cities (back woods and one horse towns) I had by far the best reception with Centennial Wireless. I deliver trailers and go to all these BFE towns.

Turn off US12 onto Gumwood Road, heading toward the stateline you better say 'bye' to your caller... because all calls are dropped before you reach Knollwood / Stateline.

I have to forward all my cellphone calls to my house phone if I want any calls, or I have to sit in one place near one window without moving my neck, even then the cell calls in my home are poor and choppy.

Totally dies as soon as you Get to the Knollwood Subdivision on the Indiana Side of Line - FACT within about a 3 mile radius of Redfield Rd.and Gumwood - there is no reception whatsoever! - I got rid of Sprint service and their phone. Got a T-Mobile Samsung x495 in March of 2006. Now I only have to go within a TWO mile radius to get reception. FACT: - Milton Township is the area of Michigan where the problem is. The township board runs the town with self-fufilling reasons - they do not care about the residents except their group of 4-6 people. There is no DSL or high-speed internet service either. T-Mobile wants to put a tower right in the middle of the township and they refuse to allow it eventhough the owner of the land and T-Mobile met 25 of 26 ordinances required for a variance to build it. Milton Township denied the variance because the site was 2 miles from another tower. I understand T-Mobile is taking this to the Federal Courts for a Reversal of the township Denial. FACT: Within the next three years there are over 300 family homes projected to be built in this very area -and- a new 4 lane highway going straight from Gumwood to U.S. 12 as well - how would like you to live in this area and get NO CELL COVERAGE OR DLS SERVICE. I don't think so. I might also mention this exact intersection (Gumwood Rd.and Redfield Road) is the Heaviest traveled intersection in all of Cass County Michigan. Traffic fatalities have occurred in this area that might have been avoided if the ambulances could have been called with cell phones and gotten there sooner. There is an absolute need for a Tower in this area - now.

Alltel will drop any call that begins in Michigan prior to crossing the Indiana state line.

nextel service in niles michigan is perfect

Nextel is the only carrier I had since Sprint, and I'm impressed that I actually get a signal where I live! Sprint wouldn't even blip in and out of service.
