Absolutely terrible reception. Years ago switched to Verizon because the coverage was superior to Cingular. Not sure what has changed, but it's very frustrating to have to go outside to be able to talk. Calls break up even outside. Bought a signal extender (not Verizon) and it has not made a difference. Regularly perform the *228 function to reset towers to no avail. Sprint Blackberry Curve is great -- can even talk in walk-out basement.

Way to go Nextel! Coverage is vastly improved.

Better hang up any call if driving as it will drop with 99.9% certainty. Does not matter what kind of phone, it you are in a car, walking or on a bike.

Used to live in Novi, and generally had no problem with drop calls or reception. Now that I'm in Northville, I am LUCKY if I can get two bars. I get one bar or no service in my room and basically allover my house. Text messages don't even send all the time unless I hold it in a certain spot. It is very aggravating. I have talked to a rep and they assured me that someone was reviewing the area and she reset my phone---didn't make any difference. I rarely use it because of the inconveniences of dropped calls, not even hearing phone ring (caller goes straight to voicemail), and a terribly annoying buzzing noise 90% of the time while on the phone. Being outside doesn't even help.

I find T-Mobile generally works well for me in the Detroit area. The cell tower maps are useless for this location. They don't show the forest of cell antennae on the watertower at the high school. If this isn't shown for Northville, it's probably not shown for other locations either. It pretty much makes the tower locator function worthless.

I have had Nextel for 2 years. No problems. Great Service in South Lyon, Northville, Salem and everywhere else around the area. Absolutely no problems. I had T-Mobile before and Im glad to tell them goodbye. Nextel has better service and coverage. Plain and Simple

Signal breaks up and drops in lower level. Drop singal everytime at 5 mile and Beck Rd. I am canceling service after 8 years and recently moved here.

Very solid reception, even get 2 bars+ in walk-out basement of house. Drove down US 23 to Toledo and was on phone most of drive, never dropped the call or missed a word.

i drop calls all over town (especially on 7 mile between haggerty and northville rd). whenever i'm on vactation, all I do is roam, roam, ROAM. I miss calls all the time and when I do get them I must be on the patio and constantly moving around. if I sit down for even one minute, I drop the call. does it get better? cingular? verizon? anyone?

No reception at home - moving to another plan

Poor to no reception forget in the condo, Neighbor has singular, used her phone and for the first time ever I could use a cell in the basement. Not even a signal on any Verizon phone I have had. Tech sent 2 phones, they don't seem to know how, so it was training for them and almost 3 hours of my time, the new phone doesn't work and now my old one has no service. Can't you hear me now, No not if you are using Verizon in my home area.

I work in the Emagine Theatre and there is absolutely no coverage, it has been that way for years. They definetly do not plan to add any towers in that area. I have called and put in site request many times. They say there is not a big enought demand. You will get dropped calls going down 12 mile road towards walled lake and wixom. In Northville, going along sheldon road there is not very good coverage. T-Mobile is great but they really need to upgrade there coverage. they have the best plans and great customer service. the coverage just SUCKS. i want to switch to cingular, but the only good thing about them is there coverage. everything else sucks, there plans are expensive in every aspect.
