Coverage in some areas of Oscoda is below average to poor. and is noexistant away from US23 from Nolrth of Oscoda to just South of Alpena. I remedied this with a cell phone antenna.

Switched from Verizon and so far I'm very pleased. My phone works in areas I NEVER had service with when I had verizon. The staff at east tawas store were very helpful and honest. Finally good service in nothern michigan with at&t.

Went to mobile solutions. Was sold three different phones. Switched from Verizon. Was told every excuse in the world why things the phone service was terrible. I will never recommend AT&T to anyone in the oscoda and tawas areas. What a sales crock of crap! Stay away from AT&T at all costs unless you want a sales person trying to sell you another crap phone. Come on AT&T you say your reception in this area is great. Think again we got no service at all this weekend. We had to use a friends phone and he had Verizon and it worked great. These wireless companies charge a fortune and claim you have service everywhere. AT&T claims to be the best yet no coverage in Oscoda Michigan. What a joke.

I used to have excellent reception but something changed in the last view months. I have very poor reception, if any. Let's fix this! Looked at the new coverage maps for my area and AT&T are now partnered with someone. The plan states that if you overuse your partner, you could be terminated! This is wrong! I pay for no roaming charges and never had this problem when it was Cingular! Very unhappy.

Cingular says there is no coverage in this area. I took a cell phone from work (Alltell) that is one of the "local providers" and carried it around for a coupe of days. I would say about 75% of the time my Cingular had better reception. I usually have 2-5 bars (out of 7 or so) when inside my house. Now, once you leave the US 23 corridor, all bets are off. It is very random as to whether I will have reception or not. But compared to the "local providers' (Alltell / Nextel and Cellular One), I think Cingular still has generally better reception. Sad fact is, there is just no great cell reception up here. I still find it weird that Cingular says they do not have coverage in the area, but I get pretty good reception and they put fullpage advertisements in the localphone book.

The signal in this area is non existent. Even at home indoor (Saint Clair Shores) I usually get one or two bars and sometimes drop calls. I called and they basically told me no service in Hale and medium service at home and no guaranteed service indoors. 150.00 dollars to end contract. I do not recommend Cingular at all.

Sprint has the worst reception in this area. Customer service says they ave no plans to put future service in this community. That means Nextel does not work either, yet they sell the phones and service one block from this location. A survey of a hundred people in the area walking around like Zombies looking into their phones for some sort of miracle that it will work revealed that they indeed had the Nextel / Sprint service. I have friends that get service in the area with such providers as Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T. I wonder why Nextel / Sprint is so behind the times. I's a shame that its customers must endure the bill without the service.
