Added a Microcell and that has been great. Net effect was a lower bill and much better signal. Close to a fringe area with just the phone. Overall, works OK for me and the family.

No problem with reception until about 3 months ago, then the reception faded and calls consistently were dropped. I've spent several hours speaking with ATT and they agree there is a 3G problem, dropped to 2G, which gives me 2 bars, but is not an acceptable solution. ATT suggested I wait for 1 1 / 2 years until a new tower is built. Not an acceptable solution. They gave me $20 of my bill. It reception that I need.

I am located midway between the two towers and my reception at home is horrible. It was fine in the city especially when I had analog. After 20 years I am switching to Verizon and a Motorola 815. Maybe that will improve things.

We have had Sprint for 10 years, our phones always worked great. Sometime last year around December we noticed we were only getting 1 bar in our home and possible 2 bars outside. Was told our phones were old and needed to update them. We purchased new phones, but with the new phones we had to sign another 2year contract. We have always been happy with the service and never thought twice about a contract. We loved our plan. Well the new phones did not help. We have dropped calls all the time. I believe it started around the time Nextel and Sprint merged.

You'll need a Verizon access point for in-building coverage. We installed one and we have no issues at all, inside the house or around the 1-acre property...
