I live at the Northville Forest Apts. which is north of 5 mile on a second level apartment and my service (if there is any) is maybe one bar. It is terrible. But friends that come over with Verizon or AT&T have full signal.

I consistently get dropped or missed calls in my home and at the corner stores. You would think the Detroit metropolitan area (Western Wayne County) Verizon Wireless would have better coverage. Additionally, reception in town, in the Kroger grocery store, is very poor as well.

This is one of many dead spots I encounter between Ann Arbor and Livonia. With construction on M14 I take M14 and exit on / off Gottfredson to reach 5 Mile. Another dead spot is at 5 Mile west of Beck before Ridge Rd past the Home Depot. Dead spots throughout Ann Arbor, and total dead spot along Dexter-Pinckney by Hudson Mills Metropark. Cingular is so useless to me. Ads are laughable. Contract up in November--I just can't wait. I hear Verizon is better, but it's probably more of the same.

It has been 2 years and 1 month with this phone and T-Mobile, and I've had almost no problems with reception in about 95% of Plymouth and Plymouth Township, as well as Canton, Livonia, and Westland (with the strange exception of travelling Palmer rd, heading east just off of Wayne rd - a COMPLETE dead zone!). T-Mobile seems good for most of Metro-Detroit from my experiences, but certainly isn't always so good inside of a fair number of buildings (though it gets a 4 in my apartment). My experiences in more rural areas are not very good - lots of dropouts or no signal. I get the impression that this is often the case with T-Mobile - good in cities, bad in rural areas. Maybe this Nokia just has particularly good reception, but overall, I can't compain too much about reception in the area I live in.

I cannot use T Moble service within my home, used a Motorola V66 before and I hoped the Samsung would be an improvement- wishful thinking. Sales staff in T-Mobile stores are on commission and will tell you anything to sell a phone! Service is usually fairly good elsewhere, had to explain to my neighbors I was in the secret wittness program; thats why I spend so much time on my patio talking on phone in case the house is "bugged".
