Cell phones are useless inside the house. I don't know if it's my house or Nextel. Two-way service sucks from my personal phone but works better on the i530 I use at work. I got Nextel to be able to contact my co-workers who have work-issued phones, but my husband and I can barely talk to each other on our family plan. We can't two-way each other at all. I thought Nextel was supposed to be easier!

I see many people complaining about signial or lack of with all companys on this board. I guess what they say is true that bad news travels faster then good. I am with Cingular and before that AT&T there are many reasone for poor signial and part of the problem is some phone users do not know how to use a cell phone. I have had 12 or more phones in the past 15 years and I always have a strong signial. I travel all over the USA and can use my phone where ever I go with no problems at all. The one thing I learned a few years ago was to turn the phone off once a day, if you leave your phone on and never shut it off it will never relocate to a stronger tower. the first thing the phone does when powered up is to lock on to the cell tower and that is important each tower has an ID if you travel even in your own area say go up to flint from detroit well your locked on to a tower in detroit and when you get to Flint your phone will be hopping from tower to tower but still has the detroit tower locked in. so power off your phone and then power on and your phone will search out the strongest tower and re-id when you get back home repete that and you'll be fine. Every day power off and on your phone every morning and you will never have a signial problem. Life hasn't always been great with the cell company I am with now, 15 years ago analog CDMA was great then they went digital and everything was still great even better then they went TDMA and service went south and for about 2 years I was like most people on this board. But since then all the new forms of technoligy have just gotten better

I LOVE SPRINT ! I get great service everywhere, even in the basement at home or at work. Had Cingular and couldn't get any service at my bench at work. I get 4 bars with Sprint. When I switched to Sprint, I told them all I wanted was strong signal and long battery life. This phone does the trick! "0" dropped calls, and I use it in warren, St.Heights, MT. Clemens etc.

When I first got the GSM phone from Cingular it sounded great, like I was on a house phone. But that was short lived. Now I drop calls all the time and if I am connected I usually can't understand the other person and most are on a office or house phone. I get different stories rfrom different representatives from Cingular and they contradict each other. I am looking for a new provider!
