Reception has always been spotty, and to me seemed to get slightly better after the AT&T / Cingular merger. Also seemed to get better when I got a X427M to replace my lost X427. However, in the last two months, reception in this area has been absolutely terrible. Clear days, outside, and I am struggling to get any signal at all--and it never goes over two bars.

AT&T customer for many years could make ad receive call inside home. I was swiched to Cingular and now phone is unusable. I tried a 800 mHz cellular repeater for $300 ad now I can make voice calls but no internet network. I just tried a Verizon phone which works inside my home like my old AT&T GSM Phone Audiovox SMT-5600 did. I am just tired of dealing with all the Cingular untruths.

I often do get the full five bars and the calls drop out anyways. Also, it seems to take an awful long time to dial out to non-Verizon customers. Verizon's Customer Service used to be the best (even just a year ago) and they are terrible now. Also, they will offer you "add-ons" and if you accept, you've just renewed your contract for 2 years, though they won't tell you that. (I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on this matter.) The closer you get to US-23, the better the reception.

Hit or miss with current Cingular. Before the Att / Cingular merge it was much better. There seems to be a black hole in this immediate area for most cell services.

Always have perfect reception around Saline/Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. I go to school at EMU and never have any dropped calls there, at my house, or around town. I had Sprint, Cingular, and At&t in the past five years, and VZW is by far the best carrier around. I'm switching to T-mobile just because their plan is so much cheaper; hopefully their service will work at my house at least.
