0-1 Bars at any given time. Service not available (3-8 times a week) Texts I send appear to go through, but don't. Texts sent to me are not received. Frequent dropped calls. Frequent choppy conversations (both ways) Frequent choppy voice mail No notification of emails. No notification of missed calls. The service in this area is extreemly poor and sometimes there is no reception at all. Had I known this before signing onto a 2 year contract with Verizon I would have stayed with AT&T which never gave me such headaches. There is only 1 tower nearby which is actually an Alltel tower. Verizon is trying to run our service through that tower. If the problem is not rectified within my 2 year contract, I will go back to AT&T. I will tell all my friends and family about my experience with Verizon, and when anyone asks for provider recommendations I will flat out tell them to stay away from Verizon.

Verizon has no service in this area. I'll believe the reviews here that Alltel is a service to look into. I used Alltel in North Carolina for a year and it was adequate service with some dropped calls but usable over all. Verizon is not the provider to consider in West Michigan.

Verizon sold me the blackberry after I told them I was going to be in Traverse City a lot. I've been scammed. The 7250 has limited call life when out of network and consistantly drops calls, fails to receive messages and is generally unusable in this region. Verizon knew this and still sold me the phone. I understand that Alltel is much better in this region and I will have to bite the bullet and start another contract with Alltel if Verizon will not disconnect service. Tough business lesson I didn't need.
