I had major Recepion problems in my home as I could only make calls standing outside getting 2 bars was good. Inside my house I was getting no bars. I went to the Sprint store 3 times complaning about this problem. They finally hooked me up with a internal antenta that hooks up to my internet using a wireless router and now I get 5-6 bars inside my home. I can't say that I was happy about having to use this method but at least it now works. I also can't say I was happy about dealing with the people at the Sprint store. (White Lake on M-59) since they gave me quite a hard time before I could get the antenta and then get it hooked up.

I've never had a dropped or missed call or been unable to place a phone call using Sprint in this area. I've been using them since 2006 through present 2011. The phone conversations have always been clear and the 3G data speeds have always been fairly fast - and much faster than AT&T's rather slow 3G speeds in this area, whom many people I know have. I don't know how Verizon's 3G data speeds compare in this immediate area, but I do know that on a larger scale (most of Waterford, MI - the 48327-48329 zip codes) the reception is usually rather poor (less than 3 bars) and dropped calls occur occasionally with Verizon. If you have a good enough signal to place or receive a call however, their call quality is decent and their 3G data speeds seem roughly on par with Sprint's. Definitely faster than AT&T's. Though I don't know of anyone whose complained about dropped calls in this area with AT&T in recent years.

Reception use to be good indoors where I live. 3-4 bars. Now its usually at 1 and will jump up to 3 and then will go to 0. Has been bad like this for a month now. Have tried 2 different phones. One with a Sprint account and one with virgin mobile (they are the same thing) and have same results. No problem working outside though, has 3 bars.

I pretty much have to stand on my head to make a call inside my house. I can sit in my driveway and get ok service but other than that I'm screwed. I talked to a Sprint rep and he said the area around the airport has trouble due to the radar and radio signals there. Sounds possible but still fed up with sprint. switching to Verizon as soon as my contract is up

I'm a Boost Prepaid Mobile Subscriber (which uses the Nextel Network) and am considering moving to a Verizon Prepaid Network through StraightTalk which is offered at Wal-mart or online. I know that their phones are network specific and I'll have to get the phone that goes with Verizon and not AT&T, etc. In general I've been pretty happy with the Boost service with the exception of the reception where I'm now living. I'm fairly certain that my reception is bad on account of the building I'm in which is surrounded by other buildings of like structure. Still, I'm hopeful the signal for Verizon will be stronger than that offered by Boost which is on the Nextel network. Will try and find someone who has Verizon service to come over and test their reception where I live before committing.

For some reason or another, this area is plagued with dead zones for ANY network really. The nearest tower is almost 5 miles away and when going into any stores on the above corner, I get no bars or no service. I wish there were a way to report the dead spots online.

I just movved to Midland, Saginaw area of Michigan. Notice they finally have my service up this way. I really like Metro PCS been with them when I lived in Florida, and now that I live here its good. I just hope that now that they have moved up here to Mid-Michigan they remember that there are alot of people who live just outside their major coverage area need cell phones, and cant get great reception even with VZW, and others. IF they add a few more towers around Midland County say, Sanford, Edenville, Hope, and what about Hemlock around Saginaw, and Pinconning around Bay City, they will capture more customers because these folks would actually have a great phone plan and have a phone that works in the country. Alot of folks up this way live in the country and would be going in and out of their service area only by a few miles, and it wouldnt be worth it for them to switch over to metro given they liev just a few miles out of town and cant get ANY cell phone to work barely at all, let alone one that only works a few miles up the road. I just hope they think a little more rural now that they are finally up here. I hope they keep expanding. My reception is good, but I do drive to these places I litsed and notice there is no service. THink outside the box a little and add some towers out and around current major service areas and you will get more subscribers purely on the fact its a great service and you would have a monopoly on the other carriers that dont work out in the country at all or very little, and yous definitely would!

This area specifically has always been plagued with bad reception no matter what the carrier due to the abundance of trees surrounding us and the location of the tower being on the other side of those trees. I've been with Verizon for 7 years and except for the need for better data rates, i'm staying.

I have been with Verizon for almost 5 years now and have never been so pleased with not only the signal strength of Verizon, but also their customer service. I have had 2 incidents where I was unable to pay the bill for up to 3 months in the past (about 2 years ago) and even though my phone was shut off, it was quickly turned back on with in a few hours and I was always treated with courtesy. The only gripe I have is their data package is to expensive. Over all this company is great!

Sprint's customer service is GREAT. I left AT&T / Cingular because I could never get a native speaking North American - always a run around. The Treo 650 is a fine piece of equipment also.

Never had ONE reception problem with Verizon. I switched from them to Nextel because after numerous requests to apply our corporate discount to my phone they never did even though they told me it was all done. Nextel is pretty good, but not as good as Verizon when it comes to call quality

Nextel is OK, never had a problem with the 2-way feature, but sometimes when you use it as a normal phone the other persons voice cuts out and you miss a word or too. Could be better.

No reception in the house. We both have to go on the deck to talk on the phone. Never got the promised rebates to make the phone free. Contract is up and I am out of T-Mobile. Also had lots of trouble all over the US when traveling with NO SERVICE messages all the time.

The reception is absolutely horrible. I have traveled around Michigan and the coverage is sporadic and poor. I think the majority of the problem is due to the phone, however... my opinion is hereby the AT&T network sucks. Which is contrary to their advertising and what I've read about their network. My phone takes pictures, types emails, surfs the net... unfortunately the one thing it can't do is let me make or recieve a call when I want. (Also I often recieve messages hours after they have been recieved... what a joke.) If anyone out there is shopping choose Verizon. Nextel isn't bad, but I have no affinity for their Motorola phones.
