When you can actually manage to make a call, you'll be connected 2 minutes tops. Most of the time you have 1 bar, maybe 2. People will call you and it goes straight to voicemail. Texts cannot be sent until you try dozens of times, wandering around holding the phone out in front of you. Tech Support is NOT supportive, they refuse to accept the fact that you do not get reception. Avoid at all costs!
Midwest Wireless was pretty good, but then Alltel bought it out, everyone I know says their reception sucks now. But I hear Verizon has bought out Alltel, so hopefully it will get better.
Cingular reception is very poor in Buffalo, MN, Monticello, M, and most towns west of Minneapoli (0 to 1 bars typical). Calls are dropped frequently. I've tried different phone models. Cingular phone support was worthless.
