Before, AT&T had near no reception in Chatfield, but just this last year, they put a new tower, and have really great service down there, I went there for a wrestling match, and there was service throughout the whole school. Verizon and Alltel kept loosing service!

Granted, not the greatest phone in the world, but it worked just fine in Chatfield. And then Alltel bought Midwest Wireless. Now, receptions in town is spotty, even with a tower in town. My phone is usually roaming and the majority of time it is roaming, it is also analog. The phone works great in Rochester and the Twin Cities, but has more dead spots now with Alltel than I did with Midwest Wireless. I have an external antenna that would pull in a signal no matter where I was and now even that doesn't work like it used to before Alltel took over. Not sure why reception would get worse after Alltel took over, but that is what happened. At least with Midwest Wireless, if I had a problem, I could talk to someone in Minnesota who actually seemed to care if there was a problem with your phone or service. Now, calls go to Little Rock, Arkansas and I don't remember anyone from Midwest Wireless hanging up on me like someone from Alltel did. If Verizon would put a tower up south of Rochester I would switch in a heartbeat, but this is an "extened network" area for Verizon, so while their phones work, none of the "In" features work.

T-mobile has very poor coverage in Chatfield, MN and rural areas. Stick with Alltel or Midwest Wireless.
