Consistently poor reception for the first year and a half of my 2 year contract. I even tried to upgrade to a very expensive phone but Sprint's ridiculous policy and piss-poor business sense made it so it's actually more worthwhile for me to just suffer through my contract until it expires, and go with someone else, even if their reception isn't much better, just to spite Sprint. This would be like if I brought my 10-year old vehicle into a car dealer, wanting to buy a 2006 model, and they blew me off and sent me out the door!

How can one live in the most central, well-elevated location in Uptown Minneapolis, constantly update his phone and have such poor reception? I have tested phones from five manufacturers here and the only constant is the miserable reception Verizon insists on providing me and my wife. I have had calls dropped on me during job interviews over the phone, so you can just imagine when I see that guy say "can you hear me now", I don't take it very well.

Intermittant to really bad coverage. As my contract has recently expired Sprint's position is that my phone should be replaced to correct the issue. This is an interesting position to take as they have acknowledged that there are recognized reception issues in this area. They remain very insistent that I must purchase a new phone to correct the problem. When informed that my girlfriend's phone which is only a couple of months old, has also little to no reception they literally had nothing to say. After prompting for a response of any kind - the cs representative hung up the phone. This has become increasingly more difficult over time. This is obviously an issue for many as there are very few cellular towers in the western 1st tier suburbs and very few in SLP. Hope everyone else has better luck - I might be getting a land-line.

Tower is nearby. It covers the nearby neighborhoods pretty well, all the way up into Andover. Much better coverage than Verizon in this area.

Follow up to my last post as a Cingular user. I switched to T-Mobile and couldn't be happier. No dropped calls, no static, no issues whatsoever. Walking thru the halls of the high school - still works! Some of it's the phone (I found that, unlike other industries, the better the cellphone, the better the reception), but it's probably mostly the carrier. Well done!

Usually get 5 bars, even in my apartment building which is 100 years old. Ocassionally a blip or two, but nothing serious, and almost never any dropped calls.

For the most part with Cingular (anywhere in Mpls) I have awful service. Any call I am on for more then 15 minutes gets dropped. probably 20% of the time I get a "call failed" message when I am dialing out. I can always hear the person I am talking to, but they say I am cutting in and out. I have a year left on my plan and will probably cut my losses and pay the $150 to cancel my plan.
