Alltel has coverage in this area, both CDMA for Alltel customers, but also has GSM sites in this area as well for GSM customers from other carriers roaming.

I have had Verizon for 9 years and I wouldnt switch I have traveled to the lakes,cities up north in MN Washington DC,CA and WI and MI and I could use it where ever I went The phone that you buy does make a differance you need to spend a little money on your phone and I'm not talking hundreds of dollars but at least a hundred I had cell- one before would never go back to them

Right here on this side of town, reception is a bit sketchy at times, but as a rule, I have yet to find a place in the Fargo / Moorhead area that I can't get reception, including basements and stores. I've also used used Alltel and was extremely disappointed. Sprint hasn't let me down in 3 years.

T-Mobile GPRS data coverage ends about 25 miles SE of Moorhead on I-94. There has been no roaming GPRS support on T-Mobile phones for months in Moorhead, Fargo, Grand Forks or Duluth and all areas north. EDGE is working in some of those areas.

On Hwy. 208 there is very poor reception in Vergas, MN

There is a spot about 3 miles east of Hawley till a few miles west of Hawley that I get no reception whatsoever.
