Usually 4-5 bars inside with few dropped calls. Must be a new tower because the same phone had 1-2 bars with several dropped calls a year ago.

Finally Verizon has a tower up in NOrthfield! Yesterday March 30 my reception went fron 0-1 bars to 3-5! I can now be in my house (which is close to st olaf) and have 4-5 bars! When I am by the high school or middle school it does go down to 2-3 bars. ANd of course when your inside a building it usually was a 1-2. But just wanted to say... ... ... .IT'S ABOUT TIME! Last week the Nfld paper has a picture of a company installing on the St. olaf water tower for a cellular company. That must be Verizon.

How many people have to complain before something is done?? We had to add long distance back on our land line so we can hear people! We can't rely on our cell phones anymore, Someone calls and you hear every 5th word! I worry that if we need to call 911, the operator won't know who or where to send help! Verizon is really dropping the ball on this one, why drop extended coverage before you get your tower up?? AND why can't they give you a date when this will be done?? I can't stand talking to customer service, they don't know S**t. There will be a law suit if someone needs emergency help and they can't get any signal! I just pray that no one gets into this situation.

Like all of the other Verizon customers, my service has fallen drastically in the last 2 months. I have called Verizon several times and been given the run around until finally (after chewing someone a new one) I was told they were putting up a new tower sometime during the first quarter of 2006. Since they were putting up a new tower, they discontinued the use of other providers towers in the area, thus cutting out our exteneded network coverage. After a few more phone calls, I was able to get most of my bills for the months of questionsable coverage wiped clean. While this is helpful... .it still doesn't take away the fact that I need the cell phone coverage! If it doesn't get fixed in a few weeks, I will be changing carriers.

Like a number of others, I am a Verizon customer in Northfield. I have two phones on my account, and ever since late Nov, coverage has been poor to non / existent. As was said above, I used to have a 5 bar extended network coverage, and now its zero or one bars of Verizon coverage. I have lost some calls as many as three times, and there is near constant break up of the signal during conversation. This is the third phone I've had with this problem(it seems if you have a coverage problem, they just give you a new phone and assume that it all problems will go away). I'm only giving it a couple of more weeks, and then switching. Verizon usually has the best coverage in the country, and this has been verfied by my travels, but to not have cell coverage in a 17000 person town 45 minutes from a major Metro area is absolutely ridiculous.

With so many people having problems in the Northfield area, Verizon better get that tower up ASAP and if they are opening a store in Northfield, The tower should be up before that. We can't trust our Verizon wireless service anymore. We can never get through to others who have Verizon and if we do, we hear ever third word or lose the connection. Where is our group of support staff that they show on their ad?? I think they will lose out if they don't move fast here. All I know is I have 4 phones through Verison and we can barely use them, so I'll give them a very short time to improve this problem, then we will be transfering to a new carrier. Sorry, you give poor service, you lose customers.

Like everyone else who has Verizon in Northfield, I have lost almost all service at home in the past couple of months. I have many break ups and disconnects. My signal strength went from 5 bars on the "Extended Network" to 1 bar on the "Verizon Network". I SUSPECTED that a distant "Verizon" tower was overriding a nearby "Network" tower. That seems to be the case with EVERYONE who has Verizon in Northfield. Downtown, the reception is much better, but I always lose calls while driving on HWY 47 north of town. However, Verizon is opening a new store right in Northfield, so they had better improve the service, or they will lose all their business there!

We started having bad reception around thanksgiving time in Northfield. I called Verizon and they told me that they turned up a tower near Northfield and that is why we now get Verizon with 1-2 bars instead of the extended area with 4-5 bars. They also said that a tower was being built in Northfield the early part of 2006. But that doesn't help right now, We have 4 phones within our family and most times we can't ge through to each other, or if we do get through, we only can hear every 7th word! Verizon was not very helpful with this problem. They wanted to offer marjinal coverage for the Northfield Area. But I just want my 4-5 bars back. They did offer to let me out of my contract, but I think i'll wait a month or so and see if that tower gets up. I really hate shopping for cell service, and Verizon was a great coverage company until recently. Maybe if enough people complain... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

Verizon reception in Northfield has really gone down hill in the past 30-45 days. I work out of my home in Northfield and always had great coverage on the extended network. Recently though my phone has been on the Verizon Network here in Northfield with 1-2 bars and many dropped calls. I am keeping a log for them as I am attempting to get out of my contract with them. Is anyone else having these problems with Verizon in Northfield? I can't be the only one!
