Not Verizon but UNICEL. They have a tower here and in Emily and in Remer and in Brainerd / Baxter. Phone works excellent virtually everywhere.

The only wireless coverage in Outing currently is on either Nextel or on Cingular with their roaming agreement with Cellular One. They both use the tower in Emily, 6 miles south of downtown Outing.

Text messages work well. Voice is unreliable. I have noticed a brand new tower on Hwy6, 2 miles N. of Outing. Don't know who the service provider is.

Poor to no reception with Cingullar, My Nextel works sometimes. To get Cingullar to work, I have to stand on top of the picknic table on the deck, not too handy when it is raining. Rumor has it that the "locals get up to 6 bars of reception, I don't know of what service.

Just bought a lake home in the area and get no reception at all on our Sprint phone. If you have a cell phone that works here PLEASE let us know what kind it is!
