I have tried 3 different cell phone companies in remer: Tmobile, verizon, and sprint. Verizon was useless, nothing the whole time in remer. T-Mobile was OK, I would get any where from 2-3 bars (connected to a CELLULAR ONE tower)= GSM 850. Anf finally sprint. Sprint is what I currently have right now and love it. I get about 4-5 bars in remer. The is digital roaming, but I do not have to pay for roaming so it is all good. Did I mention it was DIGITAL! Great call quality. I live in the cities and have a cabin in the remer area. If you are searching for a cell service to work at your cabin your best bet for remer is Sprint. Plus, it works all aling CR. 4 towards Boy River, mn (YES!).

My Nokia 3589i does OK, but sometimes have to move around (down to the dock or up behind the cabin, but not on the porch... ) in this area. My wife's LG phone won't work at all. I think the larger phone and antenna seems to work better. Battery life is also better on the larger phone in these analog service areas.

I can get internet OK, but I am unable to make voice calls. The phone seems to be using a tower just south of Walker on US cellular. Once I get to Remer, things are great from a tower in West Remer, but that tower doesn't seem to point west.

Usually no reception at all. Occasionally shows one bar, but not reliable enough to actually complete a call. I wish the reception was better - I would give up the land-line phone at the cabin.
