No reception in our house, and minimal reception in our driveway. Very disappointed in AT&T. A new cell tower recently went up at intersection of 60th Av SW and 20th St. and I'm trying to find out the carrier so I can switch to them. Township says it's Sprint, but Sprint phones get no better reception in our house than AT&T. Frustrating... ..

I just moved to Rochester, Minnesota and signed up with U.S. Cellular (my friend in Wisconsin recommended them). I've had nothing but full signal strength, zero dropped calls, and great call quality. U.S. Cellular has a huge presence in Wisconsin and I'm pretty sure they roam off Verizon's towers in other areas. I've not ventured very far outside the city yet, but I'm extremely pleased with them thus far!

I have Verizon Wireless and I have NEVER dropped a call, or had no bars. I have intentionally tried to loose bars but I cant. I get clear digital service everywhere in Rochester and surrounding areas and my mother gets the same and is a property inspector that inspects properties all over southern Minnesota. If Verizon doesn't have a tower there, the phone will use a Midwest Wireless tower and Midwest gets coverage almost EVERYWHERE! Too bad their plans, services, and customer care SUCK! So basically, Verizon is the best route to go. Plus, Verizon has the "Test Drive" feature that allows you to test out a Verizon phone for 30 days and if you don't like it, return it without any charge for the phone calls you made! Just return it, no questions asked. Pretty cool huh? give it a try.

I wanted to give Cingular / AT&T a 1 for Poor but I figured that would be too harsh. I currently commute from Rochester to Austin to work and drop calls constantly on the way to and from work, throughout Austin, and in many spots in Rochester. For a company that boasts the fewest calls dropped nationwide they sure aren't doing a very good job. On top of that they typically over-bill me. I'm switching companies soon... not sure where I'll go. It seems as though cell phone carriers are getting worse as time goes on and not improving much if any at all.

I am lucky to get any Sprint reception at my house at all. I live 5 blocks from Hwy. 14. As soon as I get to 14 heading either towards the college or towards Eyota I get plenty of signal. But at my house the reception is HORRIBLE!. I have called and emailed several times about getting it fixed and my reply was well we sent a technician out there and the cloest cell phone tower (AT RCTC) is over used and can't reach to the valley where I live... . I have an idea why isn't there a tower added in the valley or in Chester or somewhere by the Gun club. Come on SprintThis is getting old.

Not so great. I don't get service in my own house (in Foxcroft), except occasionally 1 bar in certain rooms upstairs. However, I randomly went to some place in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota (about 45 min. away from here) and I had 5 bars. So the service is pretty random to where you are. If you live in the Foxcroft area though, I would not suggest it.

The reception has improved recently. I believe there are new towers on the north side of the city that provide much better coverage than a year ago. The signal still seems somewhat variable, even when sitting on the couch, but in general it is 'good enough' most of the time. The IBM parking lot and the RAC seem to get decent signals.
