We have had the service for over 5 years and the reception at my home is marginal. I have reported to Verizon and changed phones with no improvements. I am looking for phones with better reception or a service provider that covers this area better.

There are many calls that don't get through to me. People tell me later that it rang a few times and went into my voice mail. My phone never rang, and there is no indication of a missed call. Upon complaint, Verizon gave me a new phone, and the same thing is happening, so it must be the reception. The strange thing is that it has only been a serious problem in the past month.

No service inside our stucco house, limited service outside (1 or 2 bars) with Verizon. We had the same problem with T-Mobile a couple years back - don't know if T-Mobile has added more towers in the area now or not. ATT's 3G network works great in the house -- they must have a tower close by! Wish Verizon did!

Verizon has horrible reception in the como area as well as the south boarder of Roseville near Laurpenter. The salesman admitted this is a problem spot for them. I have one spot in my home where I get decent reception. Other friends with new Verizon phones also have the same problem. Friends with Sprint and AT&T at least get bars in my home (even the basement).

good reception in major cities in general.inside and basement tend to drop calls but only occasionally. I find Verizon to be the best carrier for business cell plans so far with fewest drop calls-i think better phones help! i've tried Sprint to T-Mobile to cingular, none was comparable. Cingular worked great when I was in madison, wi, but was horrible to use as a business cell when I brought it back to mn. Still, Verizon could do better.

Verizon service: Used to have good reception till this Summer. Now I'm lucky to get 1 bar and often it drops the call if I actually get through. I remember when ATT caniblized their analog system when rolling out GPS. That's what made me switch to Verizon in the first place. I wonder what Verizon is doing to their system and how long this will last.

If I'm not in exactly the right spot it my home I get no reception. If I'm in a sweet spot I can get up to 4 bars but reception is still spotty - e.g., I often only hear every other word and people on the receiving end complain that I am dropping out. As an addendum-I also get NO reception to speak of on the East Bank at the U of Mn. so both places I am most likely to need my phone, NO, Verizon, I CAN'T hear you now! Can't wait to switch to another carrier. But the service from Verizon has been good in terms of getting a new phone when the first had a major problem and good phone service on billing questions.

I cannot use my cell phone at home or in my neighborhood. Calls get dropped, poor quality, etc. I have called Verizon several times about this, to no avail. The gods of Verizon engineering seem to be too lofty to lower themselves to talk to their customers, so when they say that they are always working to improve their network, well, Bulls__t about sums it up. To be fair to Verizon, AT&T / Cingular is no better in this area, so be warned. I have had several different phones over the years, and have had the same problem with all of them. I have only stayed with Verizon because in other areas, it is pretty good compared to others I have used. And the national coverage is excellent compared to any of the other networks. Plus, every time I upgrade my equipment in the hopes of an improvement, I get stuck with another two year contract. If you live in this area and want to use your cell phone at home, look elsewhere. And don't believe a word of that crap they try to pass off in their ads. Can you hear me now????

My sole complaint about the coverage is while I get 4-5 bars and no dropped calls inside buildings at ground level and above, as soon as I go into a basement, I lose coverage, while my coworkers on Sprint and T-Mobile still have coverage.

In an area 3 - 4 blocks around this major intersection of a major high end shopping street in an expensive neighborhood full of restored Victorian mansions, Verizon doesn't seem to care about providing decent coverage for its clients. The calls are dropped; I can't hear others; and they can't hear me. Ridiculous.

The Verizon service is just a joke. They claim their coverage is 85% of the U.S., but that doesn't mean the quality is there. I frequently drop calls and or hear about every other word someone says as the signal is so poor. I have called many times to explain the problems but they don't care. They claim there are towers all around but unless you are in direct visual contact with the tower use a land line. I am on my third phone now so that eliminates it being an equipment problem. I have a friend who has the same issues I do and he live in Mpls. The other day I had a contractor come over to do some work this past weekend and he has Verizon too and just hates it. He claims he misses calls, drops calls, and just plain can't hear the conversation completely due to the poor reception. I am looking into filing a complaint with some government agencies as I believe they are misleading people. Trust me when Verizon says "Your Problem is there Problem", --- THEY LIED -- I am still waiting for a call back from two days ago. I just got back from a camping trip with a friend who has a Cingular phone. We went from Mpls, to Rapid City, SD, to Mt. Rushmore, into the Big Horn Mountains of WY and Tensleep Canyon, across WY to Yellowstone and then down through the Grand Tetons. We then came back through Jackson WY, all across the state to Cheyenne WY, down to Fort Collins CO, up into Estes Park and the Rocky Mt. National Park. Then drove all across Nebraska into Des Moines, IA and then North on I-35 to Mpls. Let's just say I was embarrassed to have a Verizon Phone
