Verizon service: Used to have good reception till this Summer. Now I'm lucky to get 1 bar and often it drops the call if I actually get through. I remember when ATT caniblized their analog system when rolling out GPS. That's what made me switch to Verizon in the first place. I wonder what Verizon is doing to their system and how long this will last.

Virtually no reception on the hill area of the U of MN St. Paul campus (near the water tower). There seems to be a dead zone that extends from the Borlaug Hall / Ecology Building west to Cleveland Ave extending north to Roselawn. I've used three different model phones all with Sprint service, and all three lose signal in this area. Bad for U of MN students!

If I'm not in exactly the right spot it my home I get no reception. If I'm in a sweet spot I can get up to 4 bars but reception is still spotty - e.g., I often only hear every other word and people on the receiving end complain that I am dropping out. As an addendum-I also get NO reception to speak of on the East Bank at the U of Mn. so both places I am most likely to need my phone, NO, Verizon, I CAN'T hear you now! Can't wait to switch to another carrier. But the service from Verizon has been good in terms of getting a new phone when the first had a major problem and good phone service on billing questions.

I've been using T-Mobile for about 1 year now and I must say that I'm impressed compared to when I was using Cingular. T-mobile alwas had full strenght but when I'm in class, I can never get a single bar.

I've never had any trouble with my Qwest service or the phones they've offered. I never drop calls no matter where I am. Underground structures in shopping malls is limited, but other than that, I like it.

We have two phones, the T610 and a T616 that I repurposed from an ATT account. The T610 has only 2 bands, the T616 has 3. Makes a difference where we live. The T610 has poor reception and my wife frequently steps outside to make a call. The T616 has below avg reception -- I can make and receive calls as long as I'm not in the middle of the house. Been thinking about switching to Cingular, but from remarks here it looks like the reception is very poor in our neighborhood. Then again, it could be the phones.

I just recently signed back with Sprint after believing I had an equipment problem at my house. The new phone isn't any better. I actually have to switch to Digital Roaming while in my house to get a phone call, which is ridiculous. Also, sprints customer service has gone incredibly down hill. 9 times out of 10 I'll get someone who speaks english as a second language (and not that well I might add). They really don't care about me or anyone else. They did do one thing for me, which was confirm I was living in a dead spot, but then ticked me off even more when they said there was nothing THEY could do about it and to live with it. I asked for my money back and they said they would waive the cancellation fee, but not give my money back for the phone... great... just lost $100 bucks on this piece of crap even though the store representative said, "oh no our reception is great in Apple Valley... "

I have had Cingular / ATT for the past 3 years and the service was great in Wisconsin and Illinois, but once I was in Minnesota the service went from decent to worse than poor because of numerous dropped calls and malfunctioned phone devices. T-MOBILE is my new carrier and I can't complain. Reception is unbelievable even with one bar. What a relief !
