Various Nokia phones and AT and T have been a great combo in SW Columbia, downtown, VA Hosp. Not so much in south MO. Family with different phone brand but AT and T service - not so good.
I have great coverage in Columbia, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, Osage Beach, and Camdenton to just name a few. I have had Sprint for 6 years and have never had any coverage issues.
I also live in Brookside Townhomes and my phone, at most, gets one bar. Most of the time it just says "Searching" or "No Service." It's very irritating. No one I know on any carrier can make a call over here. I lived in a different apartment in Brookside last year and service was bad, but not this bad. I wish there was a way to fix this.
Live in Brookside townhomes and have little to no reception. If I receive or make a call, its is always dropped in the first minute. Supposed to have service according to T-mobile. Started using HotSpot at home, paid 100 to replace my phone for the WiFi and still rarely works. Phone has trouble connecting, mine and two other roomates included.
Can't even talk on cell in the house unless I stand facing southwest in one corner of one room on the second floor. If I try moving the call will immediately become garbled or dropped. Coverage throughout Columbia is spotty at best--lots of dropped calls--always warn people as soon as I connect that we'll probably get disconnected and that I'm not hanging up on them. Lots of rollover minutes because it is hard having a long conversation with such poor reception. Had the phone replaced but it didn't do any good. As soon as the contract expires so will our coverage by ATT.
The signal either is too low to make a call or no reception at all around this area. Further than that, absolutely no reception. As long as I'm close to I-70, reception is pretty good, except when I'm in a warehouse building like where I work where the phone would display "Emergency Call Only".
Reception and service has been a problem for a while and continues to decline. I commute between Columbia / Jefferson City daily. Dropped calls are the norm even in the city limits of Columbia and Jefferson city. Travel around the country and experience the same thing in other locations. They tried to say it was my phone and talk me into buying a new one, but friends and family members with different phones experience the same problems. Most have already switched service providers. My family and I are in the process of doing the same thing.
Decent reception. However, my friends always get an "unavailable" message when they call me. It's causing me and my roommate, who has the same phone and carrier, a lot of problems. Sometimes friends have to text me to tell me to call them, after calling 4 times and receiving an unavailable message. This will happen when I'm not using the phone or anything! Super annoying. We are switching carriers asap.
With both my Samsung and the Treo, I very frequently had to stand outside to get any sort of reception at all and even that was touch and go. 2-3 dropped calls per day. Pretty sad for having I-70 100 yards from my house. I feel bad if anyone breaks down and needs to use their Sprint phone right there.
