I drive trucks so I travel a lot in and out of rural and urban areas as well out of state. I've used Nextel and T-Mobile company phones as well as Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular for my personal phones. Many of my co-workers use AT&T as well. Out of all those companies Verizon and US Cellular had the best coverage. When I have to work in Elsberry the Nextel phone has no signal while my US Cellular phone without roaming has a few bars. In Southern Missouri and Illinois my company T-Mobile phone rarely had any signal at all and then only near major highways. Verizon and later when I switched to US Cellular had a signal the majority of the time. GSM may be good for worldwide coverage, but in the US nothing beats CDMA network coverage.
