I'm in a building on the basement / ground floor level and get full bars. I'm 2 rooms into the center of the building, so i'm not even near any windows. Yet I easily stream 128kbps music streams to my G1 all day long at work.
I lose calls all of the time inside my house in South City. Outside of my house, reception is better but it's annoying to need to stand next to a window or walk outside (esp. in the winter) to get a signal.
I have tried most every cell service in the metro STL area since it was first became available and I have experienced the best coverage with USC. In the three (3) plus years of using their service I have had virtually no dropped calls. While I can not speak highly of the 'free' Motorola phone that I got for a penny, it is still working after 40 months so I guess it isn't all bad. The downside is their excessive add-on charges pushing a $39.95 'family' package, with one additional $9.95 line, to be billed at $77.00 per month. Something is not right!
Says full bar on phone with tmobile, every call gets rejected after dialed. Just happened this week and called Tmobile, no hope... another new sim card will help?
Now I gave US cellular a 5 not because you get perfect signal, because you don't. I gave the ma 5 because even tho I only may have 2 bars, I can always make and receive calls loud and clear. Never dropped a call, never not been able to make a call. So far very decent coverage, could be better but signal everywhere, great competition to the cellular companies who have been here in saint Louis way longer.
I live on the top of a hill and still can not get any signal untill you drive out on either 270, gravois, or lindbergh. and AT&T customer service was terable, never use them.
