We are about 5 miles from I-10 and I have near perfect service. During Tropical Storm Lee I lost no reception and mostly had 3G speeds. Day to day I have all bars showing. Heading to the coast at very minimum I get 2G speeds. North of my location service is crappy due to the isolated areas.

Diamondhead South Side has poor Cingular GSM service. Marginal to none outside, no service inside buildings.

Very poor reception all over Diamondhead south side. Very bad at Harbor House Condominium's. 1-3 bars outside nothing inside any building most of the time.

I get no reception at my home and have to drive 4 miles towards I-10 before I get a bar or two. Called customer service and they said they don't guarantee service to anyone even though the coverage map indicates 2G - 3G service. Tech support indicated the same thing and added they are working on building towers in other words according to them about 2 years. I am hearing that most carriers are having problems, but the very worst one is T-Mobile. Stay away, the phones are cool but the service sux. Unfortunately I just moved to the area learned this the hard way and now stuck with a two year contract.
