I mention this area because it's a good example of Cingular's service as it applies pretty luch everywhere I've traveled and used it, both in-state and out. While I am pleased overall with the coverage and much happier with it in the Pelahatchie area, it seems that phones used on Cingular's system don't switch towers very smoothly. In fact, the call will drop from time to time. I've compared notes with other folks using Cingular and my girlfriend and I have actually spent time on the road in separate vehicles checking this out (I know, yes, we have better things to do, but we had to check this out). As I said, we are much happier with Cingular over Cellular South (who, it seems, actually got worse as time went by last year) and we like the Family Plan better we well. I just wish that they could address this hand-off situation, which does leave something to be desired. But we can live it as we live with free mobile-to-mobile calls almost everywhere in the country I travel.
