Absolutely horrible coverage here. More like no coverage. seems that no one that comes to my house gets any reception no matter the service. I must be in a black hole. Maybe the phone company could use the same pipeline that the sun and electricity are pumped in on!

I had a razor at first which got wet so I immediatly went out to get the blackjack (bad idea). 2 days of drying out and the razor worked just fine, but it was too late. I already had the service turned off. I usually got good reception with the blackjack but never used all the features and when I did use the modem to use with my computer, it sucked. Now I just moved to the orange grove area and I can't get a signal at my house. Sometimes if I go in the back yard and hold the phone just right and the north star alignes with the waxing moon after the first dew I can get a signal for about 39 minutes. Cingular or ATT said they were working on the towers in that area.

Switched from Sprint due to dropped calls all along US90 on the coast and poor to no reception at my home in the Orange Grove area. Went with Verizon; service is no better than Sprint. Seems to consistently work on I-10 but surface streets and just outside of urban areas reception drops to poor or non-existent.

DUCKWORTH RD / HWY 49, Gulfport, MS 39503 Tue Jan 31, 2006

I normally get excellent service everywhere on the coast and I love the fact that I do not roam, except in extremely rural areas. Since the hurricane though, I have been getting more dropped calls on HWY 49 around Duckworth Rd, but overall the reception is great everywhere. I love Sprint but the prices keep going up with less to show for it. :(

I switched from Sprint to Verizon because Sprint did not offer a free phone with a contract. I was told Verizon had more cell towers. Whatever. I never have bad reception with Sprint. With Verizon, I cannot get a good signal and I have had several dropped calls. Although I normally do not use the cell phone much, after Katrina, I am still not able to use it or find where the "Hot" spots are.

Sometimes, maybe, one bar if you're outside with T-Mobile at my home location above. The intersection of Hwy. 49 and Hwy. 53 you have 5 bars. T-Mobile needs some major coverage improvements heading west on Hwy. 53.

I get one bar if I'm lucky. Often I get completely shut out. Reception is pretty clear with one bar. Occasionly I will get two bars breifly. We are looking for jobs and it sucks when you find 5 messages piled up because we were out of range. We will probably switch out one of our phones to go with another provider. T-Mobile needs more towers. It was good when we lived in Birnmingham but now that we are in MS T-Mobile is not doing it.

We need more coverage on the outskirts of Hwy. 49. Reception is fine on 49 and I-10.
