We are located ten (10) miles north of wiggins on HWY 29. We have five (business)cell phones with Sprint PCS Service for five years (phone models are, Sanyo 8300). We have tried all of the telecommunication carriers, and their quality of reception are the same where we live. We are lucky if we get two bars 40% of the time. We have to drive to Wiggins to talk on the phone. I have been fighting with Sprint for five years to install a tower out here on my property, but they are saying that is no demands for their service in this location. We are in the process of installing our own 110 feet tower that will cover a 20 mile radius. Hope to have it on-line by end of year 2007. If you can't beat them, Join them Don

I live right on the Forrest County line on the outskirts of Wiggins. I've had the Motorola V551, the Sony Ericsson z500a, and now the Samsung x427m. The v551 was a great phone, but the reception was less-than-stellar. The Sony Ericsson was sucky at best, but the x427m, while not a camera phone, nor does it have the kitchy little gadgets that make the TERRIBLE Erricson a crowd pleaser, and it's not nearly as cool as it's big rival the Motorola, at LEAST I can get 2 bars if I lie across my bed and hold my mouth a certain way. You'd think that they'd place a tower in Wiggins, being that it's a growing, thriving community (I'm pushing it, but bare with me, please), but that's not happening because Cingular say's there's not enough roaming traffic... In Laymen's terms, see, the cell phone companies make money off of people's roaming charges. When a company has a roaming agreement with another, the customer isn't (outright) paying for the privledge of "pulling" off of another carrier's tower, but they still make money... Kind of like a reimbursement between the companies. Keep in mind, your carrier might be different, but as far as Cingular goes, that's why the service is so terrible.
