Hays, Lodge Pole, Zortman, Malta, Harlem, Chinook,, Hays, MT 59527 Tue Oct 20, 2009

Get no reception once I leave Billings. Usually travel alot to the North- No reception in Roundup, Grass Range, Hays, Zortman, Lodge Pole, Malta, Harlem, Chinook. I have been with Cellular One for 2 yrs and they keep telling me they will be getting new towers up. My contract is up this month and looking at switching to Verizon because they get better coverage. I called AT&T and inquired on when they would be getting wireless service in Montana and they informed in December 2009 or January 2010.

It's still analog in that area Lodgepole / Hays, under Alltel's greater freedom plan includes Sagebrush Cellular coverages roam like home which has excellent coverage in house, and mostly local areas.. Only Alltel network able to use data service, text message works on both network.. Come on Sagebrush when ever they gonna move on the last 7 analog towers to digital as they did converted almost most of all towers to CDMA technology and added some digital only towers.. (sigh) Alltel signal in our area are very poor, no signal in the house, and only from 0-1 signal bar from the outside, but Hays are worse area almost to none and it is still an analog no matter what networks Sagebrush or Alltel in our home area for last 10-15 miles and then much closer up north area with 1x coverages mostly all around like Harlem through Havre or Great Falls.. and Alltel is still the largest local network in MT CDMA / Analog coverages altogether. (Please T-Mobile come to our area to buyout Alltel GSM networks) I do still have Sidekicks but its 3 now...

Lodgepole, MT / Rt. 66 - HWY 2 West, Hays, MT 59527 Thu Feb 17, 2005

Between Lodgepole-Havre, MT along highway route 66 theres signal and no signal cuz of going up and down along on the highway to Agency being picked up by Sagebrush Cellular type B analog services. Once approaching closer to Agency, and becomes digital services same company, however it has no internet access feature but voice at this time, but when Im in that area, Im prefer to have my phone to register on CellularONE by switching from Type B to Type A in the phone network settings and I'll be able to use mobile web feature from Agency to Havre along Hwy. 2 West. Signal have always been excellent strenght, unfortunately between these town where locate in Chinook, MT inside the town the signal is very POOR! Whenever I need to make a call, in this location, I'd have to switch back to Type B in order have the phone to register on Sagebrush Cellular, for this provider the signal is excellent but not CellularONE for in this area. After that from Chinook to Havre, my phone design to stay on Verizon Wireless Network, and theres no way for me to force to stay on Type A, it will still pick up VZW Newtwork no matter what. HMPH, Since its too spotty and signal nope its unacceptable. One more thing, if you're VZW customer and being on Cell 1 network, mobile web will work but not for text message or email. Due to their system is Type B, and VZW is Type B.. thats how way it is. Just Mobile Web.. I dont mind and I can physically send text message through mobile web... that is all...
