Great reception, no problems, I DL at 1.2 Mb / s, not bad for a cell phone. Someone said earlier they DL 6 MB, I am not believing that, but eh, who knows. I've seen mixed reviews about sprint, mostly bad, but I must be the ONLY fortunate one as I have no honest complaints. Either that or everyone on here just likes to complain.

I switched to Sprint in Dec. 2007 from Verizon and had coverage here at the house for months and months, now I have no signal. The same thing happened with Verizon, I was a loyal customer for ?? 5+ years then all of a sudden, I had no coverage here at the house. The explanation was a change in tower and what company owned it? rented it at that point. They had done some research and I will say that they bent over backwards to help me, let me out of my contract, were very honest about the problems. There has to be a change in the towers *again, this time I am just getting the run around. They say to dial *2 and follow the directions... I can not do that because I have no signal. I would go back to Verizon in a heart beat, if I could get coverage for my cell phone here at the house!

We moved here from MD last summer, bringing with us our service contract with Verizon. We had absolutly no signal using verizon, and horrible service. So we figured lets give Sprint a try. Of course in this anti-competitive market, giving a service "a try" is like some kind off VD -- the bad gift that keeps on giving. Sprint is by far the worst provider that we have. There is no service at home -- except if I go to the Attic of our house and lean out of the window (I'm serious). I commute from Apex to Winston-Salem five days a week and 60 percent of the route (64 - 751 - I40 / 85 - Biz 40 -- and back) has no signal, the other 40 percent has signal strength enough for a max 3 min call. Im not kidding. We've complained to Sprint and they're only response is "Oh really? Not heard that one before". We've had our software updated uncountable times (star 2 anyone?), had new phones given to us -- to no avail. I can only hope that the Google phone and its sans 2 year contract is out soon. There is nothing like a little competition to correct these problems. I spent 2 weeks in China this past year and we have cell phone service like in the 3rd world. For that matter, I've had better service in angola using a hand - cranked WWII battle phone.

Phone cuts out unless you go out side. Cheaper phone would not work at all. Had to return and buy most expensive phone to get any service

The phone reception is good at work, out at RTP. But, at home, the phone drops constantly. Practically unusable because you can't carry on any kind of conversation for any period of time. It constantly looses the connection every couple of minutes.

there is a pocket within the Amhurst subdivision that will not hardly pick up a signal; this is true even though the cell tower is just 1 mile away

I get pretty descent reception all over town. The key to getting good reception with Sprint PCS is your choice of phones, the Sanyos tend to get better reception overall. From what I remember there are several bad spots on Holly Springs Road before it reaches Tryon coming from Holly Springs that will DROP with any phone, its a dip in the land. I've had "OK" coverage at my old house in Sunset Ridge in Holly Springs but much better reception in Apex. Where I work I can get reception inside a large commercial building but most of my co-workers don't have reception at all with US Cellular, Cingular or Alltel.
