I constantly have to walk around the apartment to get any reception and I live in a very populated area of Arden / South Asheville. I am very displeased with the AT+T service in and around Asheville. If I venture an hour East, I get 5 full bars even in the countryside. It seems like a major oversight to not maintain better service within an ever-growing WNC city. I will soon be switching services, which is sad due to the cost of my "AT+T service only" phone.

AT&T has the worst reception in this area. We are sandwiched in between two major roads and very close to I-26 and we get really lousy reception at our home. If you are in the South Asheville area do not get an AT&T phone. We actually have three different phones on our plan. the Palm Centro gets poor to below average reception and the little Samsung flip phone gets no reception. The only phone that gets any level of reception is the Motorola Razr and even that is below average. 3G speed is useless if you can't actually get signal. I think thye need to improve their coverage rather than worry about how fast their poor coverage is.

Well had US Cellular for many years and just recently switched to Verizon. Verizon was cheaper and provided a Mission discount so econically a better choice. That is until I used the service! US Cellular is hands down the best around Asheville. I never dropped called nor lost calls in the many many years I had them. Within the 1st week of Verizon I have lost so many calls and my nomral conversation is "can you hear me now" because 80% of the time the call reception is poor or non existant. I live in the South end of Asheville and there just isnt coverage there with Verizon. I am glad Verizon offers a test period because I have tested them and 3 differnt phones and they cant match US Cellular I am going back to US Cellular!
