Verizon
Poor Reception. Worse Customer Service. Verizon 1822 Blowing Rock Rd, Boone, NC 214 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY with ENTITLED EMPLOYEES who CANNOT RESIST PICKNG ON THE HOMELESS, POOR, and SUFFERING The entitled employees of this store need to learn respect for their elders and compassion for the poor. Verizon ought to be mortified to have such callous people in its employ. Psalm 12:5 5 "Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise, says the Lord. "I will protect them from those who malign them." Proverbs 31 8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Your employees are amoral and cowardly to target the poorest people in the community and to use the police as tool of intimidation. Your company's retaliation against those who point out your employees' cruelty has not gone unnoticed. Verizon is squandering both business and the opportunity for decency by employing impudent people who seem to feel they are above others. If Verizon cannot manage to train their employees to (at the very least) furnish basic contact information for whoever is responsible for their shoddy stores, they don't deserve your money or your respect.

Verizon service has been averaging around 2 bars until June 2020 and now no or 1 bar and thus no phone service. What changed?

My reception with Verizon is usually 1 to no bars. Texts constantly fail. If your down on Blowing Rock Rd your fine. But try to go anywhere else and it sucks big time. I get zero service on 421 from Boone al the way to Winston Salem. No service. If I head to Tenn and Georgia I’m good all the way. Phone service in Boone sucks!

No reception. Any plans to upgrade the network or do I need to switch carriers?

Straight Talk is the local Walmart brand. I've heard it doesn't work in Ash County. Seems fine here, same as Verizon. Know that using a hotspot on an iPhone with Straight Talk is not allowed, literally. Must buy another relatively inexpensive device and "data" instead of "service" plan.

I'm getting 1 bar on Russ Cornett Rd with Verizon. Service is terrible and store on Hwy. 321 was little to no help. Any suggestions?

Local roaming helps to comnect the call, but roamong is needed on bamboo, 194, 105 which is awful. Data never works inside the town except the campus. Very worst service, no point in spending money on data, smart phon e works only with wifi. Worst carrier to have for the one work on road driving.

Service has definitely improved in the last couple years with there now being LTE in places where there is service. A good amount of Boone is covered but anytime you go into buildings, the service struggles. I have been using the Wifi-Calling feature and it has been working great. But I would not recommend T-Mobile in this area as I am often frustrated with No Service.

Coverage has drastically improved since a year ago. Literally, I can't remember a time I haven't had usable service now - I get 4G LTE everywhere, and usable reception in every building. Sprint rebuilt its network, and since they finally added nextel's frequencies and got that new CEO... I'm glad I stayed. I can really see a difference compared to the previously abysmal network over a year ago. I don't even need, and barely use, wifi now... often my 4G is faster, and unlimited! I now even get service in the movie theater at new market. And up on howard's knob... even in the dorms. You need to get one of the "sprint spark" capable phones to get the better service and faster data though as it uses Nextel's old network, though. It's worth it.
