The first comment sounds like me... I get good reception in Browns Summit and Greensboro, but Alltel won't do anything to keep my business now that my contract is up... I want a Blackberry but they want $250 for it, while Verizon would give me the same model for $50. Like the first poster, I'll wait till they merge and see what's up then. Actually I'd like to have an iPhone but I have heard too many stories about AT&T around here.

I get very good reception from within Greensboro where I work, to Browns Summit where I live. My one beef with them is that they apparently want to cut me zero deals to stay with them, as my contract is up very soon and Verizon would give me a $50 BB Curve plus a good data plan cost... Verizon and Alltel will be one and the same soon (end of year?), so perhaps at that point I'll check back again.

I see other people using cell phones in my area but I can not seem to get service with alltel. Why doesn't Alltel set up more towers or increase the output of the towers they have. It appears to be misleading to see the coverage area advertised only to find that you do not have coverage in your area.

I get 3 bars when I walk to summit lakes which is 200 feet from my house otherwise at the top of the hill I dont get any service

I have Suncom and I can tell you around Greensboro and the county areas I have drop calls all the time and I mean all the time. I had AT&T had to switch to this SumCom thing. THE WORST RECEPTION EVER! I have had Verizon and Alltel they are head and shoulders above SunCom. I will be going back to one of those companys soon when my contract is up. You can not drive and use SunCom because you will always drop calls if your converstion last longer than 2 or 3 minutes. It mostly happens when your on a SunCom network and it switches over to the Cingular network or viceversa there is a delay and you loose your signal.

Cannot get anything inside my home. Outside, I was lucky to walk into my field and get one bar to make any calls. Then when I got to make the calls if I rested the phone on my shoulder to do something that required both hands I would loose the call automatically everytime anytime!
