I've loved having service through Alltel since I switched over from Verizon a couple months ago. I've noticed that the Alltel signal is even better around here which did surprise me at first. But I talked to a friend of the family who does maintenance on cell towers for all the providers around here and he says that Alltel owns more towers around here than anybody else so it should be stronger. But I've really noticed a difference once you get away from the interstate where everybody is fine. I would rate Alltel as the best around here, Verizon as second, and everybody else as a distant third. It also seems like the signal is especially better in big buildings without windows, like the mall, Wal-Mart, or Food Lion. Overall, I'm happy with the switch, Alltel's family plans rule, for the same price I get more anytime minutes and My Circle which is unlimited calling to any 10 numbers. Alltel has just worked out great for us so I'm singing their praises so far. I will be sure to re-report if any problems arise.

I travel from Hillsborough to Greensboro every day. There are days where I will drop calls 4 times over a 35 mile drive. Called CS, had to call them back to get a reply, "No problems with the network". I will be paying the $200 to get out of this deal. Tempted by Sprint (save the $200) but after reading this board, think I'll go Verizon (wife has it, loves it)

The reception "Sucks" on Cingular Wireless! When you travel down this road you have bars but the other person can't hear you while traveling on this road in particular, you loose the call all together! I have tried this with other series Cingular wireless phones and get the same results, I don't recommend Cingular Wireless.
