Fine coverage, I can see a cell tower a short walk from my house. Never had a problem with a text or call.

I have one bar sometimes at my house. If I go less than half a mile reception improves greatly.

I can't seem to say enough good things about the service from Alltel. I went from having 1-2 bars with Sprint to 3-4 with Alltel. My conversations at home are much clearer and almost never break up. I recommend this carrier after having used Verizon and Sprint over the passed few years.

My service with Alltel has been pretty good. Occasionally get choppy audio and very rarely a dropped call. Reception is good throughout the triangle area and I-85 corridor. My only complaint is with sound quality, and this could be partly caused by the phone. Signal penetration into buildings is good. My employer uses Cingular and we had to wire up the whole building with signal boosters and our phones were still barely usable. Alltel coverage is good without signal boosters.

Just switched phones, hoping to get better reception in my apt., as a cell phone is the only phone I have. But I still get 0 or 1 bars in my apartment, consistently. I was hoping to switch to Cingular, but I'm apprehensive about this after reading this site! My sister just got back from China where she could talk on her cell phone in the subway! When are we going to catch up?

I have been with Alltell (360, Sprint and all those name changes)since 1990, yes 1990. What can I say. I fired Bellouth and Vonage on my landline and VOIP at work, and I am thinking about going completely mobile for my business (recruiter). I wish I could find perfect cell phone reception nirvana but I can say that I never have dropped calls and reception is always good on my Motorola t720 although the cheapy 120e Motorola can get a little choppy when my wife calls. Heck, I just got her out of her 1990 bag phne with three big watts (versus 1 / 4 watt today) Hey, no dropped calls with that bad boy... till it died pitifully after long 15 years.

Sorry about the way my prior post ended. I'm not good at typing on my iPad as it is very touchy and seem to hit the send button often in the middle of whatever. Anyways back to the sleaze bag carriers, we all need to address the issue with our State Representatives and the Attorney General. What they are doing is simply not acceptable and they need to be held accountable. I depend on my phone as a direct line for my business, getting flack from clients and the possibility of losing clients because I can't cary on a conversation to do business is horrifying to say the least. So I ask do you think I'm right? If so please join me in asking all your friends, family and neighbors to file complaints with the State Reps and Attorney General because the carriers are deaf, stupid and about to have their little scheme backfire.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this site as I am or was (now undecided) going to switch from AT&T to Verizon because like all of the post since May of this year I have next to no reception in my house. In the few micro spots within the house where I can get a bar or two that fluctuates continuously I can't turn my head without getting dropped. Like all of you I've called to complain and was told it was my phone and everything else but there problem. After reading all the post which basically convey the same issue I think I know what the real problem or in my terms scam is. The problem with reception seemed to happen overnight this past spring, after thinking about it and recalling the first fix the customer support person suggested was to buy their mini cell booster. In my opinion, with this new product which sells for just under $200.00 the carriers have intentionally reduced the signal strength to entice or force being the better word their customers to buy their new product. No one can convince me otherwise. I don't know what we can be done to stop these sleaze bags from what is or should be a criminal act other than to ask you and everyone else to contact our state respresetatives and the do about other than ask all

The situation has essentially degraded from bad to worse over the pas 2 / 3 months. It is usually "No Service" inside the house and probably 1 bar in the neighbourhood. AT&T Sucks!

The reception is terrible--to the point that it has affected my ability to conduct business at home. I used to at least be able to go out on my balcony (not ideal when school has ended for the day or evening rush hour traffic), but now even that doesn't help. I miss calls frequently so they go straight to voicemail. And even the voicemail messages are garbled. It's not my phone. It's only a year old, a newer model, and I have no issues with it when I'm in other locations in Wake County (except for some dead spots here and there that tend to affect everyone else I know).
