Sorry about the way my prior post ended. I'm not good at typing on my iPad as it is very touchy and seem to hit the send button often in the middle of whatever. Anyways back to the sleaze bag carriers, we all need to address the issue with our State Representatives and the Attorney General. What they are doing is simply not acceptable and they need to be held accountable. I depend on my phone as a direct line for my business, getting flack from clients and the possibility of losing clients because I can't cary on a conversation to do business is horrifying to say the least. So I ask do you think I'm right? If so please join me in asking all your friends, family and neighbors to file complaints with the State Reps and Attorney General because the carriers are deaf, stupid and about to have their little scheme backfire.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this site as I am or was (now undecided) going to switch from AT&T to Verizon because like all of the post since May of this year I have next to no reception in my house. In the few micro spots within the house where I can get a bar or two that fluctuates continuously I can't turn my head without getting dropped. Like all of you I've called to complain and was told it was my phone and everything else but there problem. After reading all the post which basically convey the same issue I think I know what the real problem or in my terms scam is. The problem with reception seemed to happen overnight this past spring, after thinking about it and recalling the first fix the customer support person suggested was to buy their mini cell booster. In my opinion, with this new product which sells for just under $200.00 the carriers have intentionally reduced the signal strength to entice or force being the better word their customers to buy their new product. No one can convince me otherwise. I don't know what we can be done to stop these sleaze bags from what is or should be a criminal act other than to ask you and everyone else to contact our state respresetatives and the do about other than ask all

The situation has essentially degraded from bad to worse over the pas 2 / 3 months. It is usually "No Service" inside the house and probably 1 bar in the neighbourhood. AT&T Sucks!

The reception is terrible--to the point that it has affected my ability to conduct business at home. I used to at least be able to go out on my balcony (not ideal when school has ended for the day or evening rush hour traffic), but now even that doesn't help. I miss calls frequently so they go straight to voicemail. And even the voicemail messages are garbled. It's not my phone. It's only a year old, a newer model, and I have no issues with it when I'm in other locations in Wake County (except for some dead spots here and there that tend to affect everyone else I know).

I visit my son in Cary which lives in the The Gables Greystone Development. I have AT&T cell service which the reception there is terrible. Occasionally, I can make or receive calls on my phone when visiting but typically I cannot. If I am able to make a call I'm stuck in the very spot that I was able to receive the initial signal in order to complete the call. AT&T, you need to be concerned not only about the residence that live in this area but also people visiting this area. When my contract is up, if this issue is not corrected, then I will no longer be an AT&T customer.

I enjoyed adequate coverage - fluctuated 2-4 bars- I could make calls and hear - it was fine. Now though, since around 12 / 14 / 09, AT&T has changed their network coverage- downgraded a cell tower with no ETA- and my area is now a dead zone. This was along with a major network issue that effected multiple states, or so I was told. I received a text message that this has been resolved, but my coverage is worse than ever. I have had 2 trouble tickets in with customer service and will be calling again today. I will be leaving AT&T this week if they do not fix it. My cell phone is my only phone, has been for years. I rely on it for emergency calls too, so this is an urgent matter for me.

Service is horrible to say the least, I bounce between 1 to 5 bars but as soon as I make a phone call it goes down to NO SERVICE. Everyone in the Alexan Panther Creek Apartments has horrible reception with whatever cell service they have. But if AT&T does not shape up and get their sh#* together, they will be losing quite a few customers!

We can't use our phones in the house most of the time unless we stand still near a window. Also, Cingular drops calls throughout the Lochmere neighborhood. Every time I go home I have to finish up my calls before I get near Lochmere. And Cingular also drops calls on Davis Dr.in Morrisville and on dips in the Cary Parkway. I just had a 5-minute conversation with my husband on his Cingular serviced Sony Ericsson P900. He was en route from the Sears at the Cary Mall to North Hills and he dropped calls three times. We are very frustrated with Cingular's service where we live and work.

Cingular reception sucks in this area, as they have all their subscribers riding on SunCom's netowrk in this area. I did receive an email a couple of weeks ago that we are being switched back to Cingular's network(Former AT&T Wireless network) soon so I am hoping that the service gets back to normal again. I'll give it another month or so beofre I move on from Cingular.

Have had Cingular for years. Three phones. I am thankfully at the end of the latest contract. Three months ago reception went from good to horrible. All three phones drop calls after connecting. Reception varies between 2 and 0 bars. Phones roam in Raleigh and Cary. Something has changed in Cingular land - stay away!

I lean myslef over the porch rail to get 2 to 3 bars of signal. Then you think the call is going thru and nope... you were wrong. You have 5 bars and get excited but then you try to call and it won't even connect you! To top it all off your voice mail gets lost somewhere out there in the wireless world and may never reach you. AT&T gave all of us the short end of this deal! As a Northerner I would go back to Cell One in a minute if only it didnt also depend on Cingular Towers!

I was "switched" to Suncom when AT&T Wireless gave up. In the last couple of months, both my wife and I have had no luck with the phones. It take hitting the redial 5-10 times to get a call through. Most, if not all, call go straight to voicemail. no voicemail notification for days. dropped call even with a full set of bars. Basically, I think ATT screwed customers by forcing us to Suncom.

2nd phone model with Cingular. Reception basically does not exist. Up the hill 300 yards - NC 55 at High House - reception is fine. My wife has had similar experience with an Alltell phone. Valley location of this subdivision, Ashley Woods, seems to be main culprit however family visitors to the house with Cingular provider have had success with different model phones mainly Samsung and Nokia.

Switched from Sprint to ATT Wireless / Cingular in 12 / 04. Thought I would become a Cingular customer and was okay with that. To my surprise, Cingular "sold out" the North Carolina ATT Wireless customers to SunCom in return for the Virginia market. Things have only gotten worse over the last couple of months. The only reliable aspect about my SunCom service is that my calls are sure to be dropped. It's by far the worst cellular service I've ever had. Signal strength at my home is usually 1 bar or no service. On a good day, I might see 2 bars. I didn't have this problem when I originally signed up with ATT Wireless. If I did, I would have returned the phone within the trial period. Not only am I disappointed with SunCom, but I'm also very disappointed with Cingular for just dropping the former NC ATT Wireless customers without giving them / us any choice. I will get out of my SunCom contract one way or another - even if it means having to pay the early termination fee. Once out, I will be staying away from Cingular as well.

In my house I have almost no reception, having to go outside to hear calls, and even then they can be problematic. When driving in our neighborhood, if we go down a hill the reception gets worse. We also found that while on vacation in the N.C. mountains around Sparta, into Galax and Damascus, VA we got no network signal at all, and on our return home were almost to Winston-Salem before we could make calls. I have also used a couple of Sony-Erikkson phones, with only slightly better reception, and we did try those useless booster "stickers" which did nothing.

This service has been very bad lately. I have Full sevice. Then all the sudden I go into Extended Network to no service at all. I have dropped many calls over the last month. I would expect this to possibly happen where I live in Holly Springs, but this is happening every where (Durham, Cary, Raleigh). My other issue is my voicemail may not show up for days. I haveto constantly check it every couple hours to make sure I did not miss one.
