Not many areas around North Cary / Morrisville where Sprint is not at full coverage. The only area I have seen issues is on Church Rd where none of the cell phone carriers seem to work.

My father and I are on a family plan. When ever he calls me from his house his cell phone is very choopy. He had Cingular before and it was never an issue. Perhaps Sprint just has lousy call routing or poor reception

Sprint Cell phone outside if Fair. Very poor indoors. Calls are choppy enough to irritate most people. Luckily our contract is up as we just moved into this home. We had a party and some friends over. ATT had one bar and Verizon had 2. ATT dropped 4 calls at our home on an iphone so they are out. We are switching to Alltel. We will post a note on Attel in a few weeks after thorugh testing the service

Works everywhere in raleigh / cary area except the dam lowes food store. Of COURSE! I can never find a dam thing at the grocery store, and can't call my wife! Overall, I never seem to get a dropped called ever. That seems amazing after reading all these other comments. No I do not work for Sprint and personally hate all cell companies.

Coverage with Sprint is very spotty in Lochmere. Can not talk inside my house unless I'm near a window and even then the phone fades in and out.

I get very reliable reception with my new Sony Ericsson phone (the only one for Sprint / Verizon, the T608). I had a Sanyo 8200 before, it had s0-so reception (almost NEVER over 3 bars, commonly having under 2). I have also used a Samsung VI-660 (the "free" one), and it was absolutly terrible. A complete nightmare for you and whoever you are trying to call, and rarely had any kind of reception. Phone seems to makes a 70% difference, service 30%. I have had 3 completely different experinces with 3 phones on the same network in the same area. DO NOT< / b> get that free phone that came with the plan, it will ruin your entire experince. Do your research on phones, regardless of service provider.

Two months ago Sprint service went from 4 bars to 0 very suddenly. We fired BellSouth and went totally mobile because it was so good then. Now we're cancelling Sprint service and going VoIP Vonage and pay-as-you-go (other) cell service for emergency only. Going backward in time aren't we?

My ancient Nokia 6185 does better than the new Sanyo and Samsung models on my family plan. This is painful as I would love the features of the Treo 650 for biz(recruiter). 3-4 bars but calls dropped frequently -Strange because the LARGE Penny Rd tower visable to my W / SW practically casts a shadow on my home office. Alas, other options I read about here seem little better.

almost always 4 bars or more at home. the only problem we have noticed locally was a problem with dropped calls (not switching towers correctly) around Crabtree but Sprint appears to have fixed this. Driving down US 70 towards the beach you should have service all the way but there are pockets where the phone will search or roam for a couple of miles.

I held on to this older model cell phone along with Sprint PCS since late 1999, mainly because of witnessing generally better reception and coverage than those with the newer models and other providers. Beginning to regret dumping my landline phone in favor of cable internet and cell phone connectivity, since cell reception has degraded at my residence in a town with a population of 100k+ and with a cell tower located less than half a mile away. I've had to switch the phone over to analog to get 3 to 4 bar reception. Surfing the web looking for improved service and cell phones. Have not been able to find any information on independent evaluation on cell phone transmitt and receive performance.

Have had Sprint PCS since 2000. Reception depends entirely on the phone. Sanyos generally get the best reception. Just do some research with regards to signal strength! Great reception on nearly all roads in NC. Inside of buildings, I generally get 2 bars. Similar to other cell networks in NC. At my house, I get full service. No real complaints so far except customer service. Keep calling until you get somebody competent, which usually takes around 3 calls.

Usally very bad reception at home. If I go up the road on 64 it gets better but not by much. This is horrible. I can't even get good reception in my own home. I can't wait to switch, although I will miss the price and plan.
