Never had a single problem no matter where I go. Alot of the comments I have seen from other people are from May 2011 when Verizon was doing alot of tower maintanence due to tornadoes and applying 4G coverage to the area

Not many areas around North Cary / Morrisville where Sprint is not at full coverage. The only area I have seen issues is on Church Rd where none of the cell phone carriers seem to work.

I can't seem to say enough good things about the service from Alltel. I went from having 1-2 bars with Sprint to 3-4 with Alltel. My conversations at home are much clearer and almost never break up. I recommend this carrier after having used Verizon and Sprint over the passed few years.

Works everywhere in raleigh / cary area except the dam lowes food store. Of COURSE! I can never find a dam thing at the grocery store, and can't call my wife! Overall, I never seem to get a dropped called ever. That seems amazing after reading all these other comments. No I do not work for Sprint and personally hate all cell companies.

Reception in my home went from 0 to 5 bars in a blink of an eye. I was ATT, then Cingular bought them but no change. 12 months after the deal my reception skyrocketed. In home conversations are fine!

My service with Alltel has been pretty good. Occasionally get choppy audio and very rarely a dropped call. Reception is good throughout the triangle area and I-85 corridor. My only complaint is with sound quality, and this could be partly caused by the phone. Signal penetration into buildings is good. My employer uses Cingular and we had to wire up the whole building with signal boosters and our phones were still barely usable. Alltel coverage is good without signal boosters.

I get very reliable reception with my new Sony Ericsson phone (the only one for Sprint / Verizon, the T608). I had a Sanyo 8200 before, it had s0-so reception (almost NEVER over 3 bars, commonly having under 2). I have also used a Samsung VI-660 (the "free" one), and it was absolutly terrible. A complete nightmare for you and whoever you are trying to call, and rarely had any kind of reception. Phone seems to makes a 70% difference, service 30%. I have had 3 completely different experinces with 3 phones on the same network in the same area. DO NOT< / b> get that free phone that came with the plan, it will ruin your entire experince. Do your research on phones, regardless of service provider.

almost always 4 bars or more at home. the only problem we have noticed locally was a problem with dropped calls (not switching towers correctly) around Crabtree but Sprint appears to have fixed this. Driving down US 70 towards the beach you should have service all the way but there are pockets where the phone will search or roam for a couple of miles.
