We normally get zero to three bars of reception. There are times when we cannot get reception and must go outside to complete a call. As I write this now I am getting two bars. I would like to see an additional tower placed in the HIghland Creek community.
Recently shopped with a friend at the new shopping center, Rivergate. We were in Target. I had full bars and great call quality with my Alltel phone. She had 1 bar on her Verizon phone. She could not hold a call to her husband. Eventually she had to use my Alltel phone to call him back. America's most reliable network, my a*s. Alltel has ben wonderful all around Chalotte and when I travel. They are much more inexpensive then Verizon and apparently "more reliable."
I just moved to CrossPointe. I get no reception in my house and an occasional bar when I go outside and rotate like an antenna. Sounds like Highland Creek is a problem. Does anyone get reception?
Reception really sucks at the corner or Providence and Fairview Road, have called Cingular, they said they would fix the problem if more users called in and asked for a problem ticket to be submitted for Providence and Fairview and several parts of Sharon Road.
alltel is awesome... i have used Cingular and Verizon and Cingular was horrible in charlotte and indian trail, nc. Verizon was good... but Alltel is the best thing ever.
Cingular. One dropped call a day. Guaranteed. That should be their revised slogan. The lucky many get more than one call dropped a day. And the very lucky few get more calls dropped per hour. The other odd thing is almost all the calls that get dropped, get dropped when I have 4 bars (highest). That makes absolutely no sense. Why did my call get dropped? because I had low reception? I had a low signal? I don't think so. I had 3-4 bars. Unless those stupid bars of reception mean absolutely nothing. A placebo to make the customer feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Reception is terrible. I moved here from Boston, where my coverage with Sprint was fine, but here in Charlotte it is horrible. Literally, I go through at least 5 dropped calls per day. Can't be on the phone for more than 10 minutes without the signal fading. Called today to try to get out of my contract, and the guy at Sprint said it was beause my phone was old. Didn't have much of a comeback when I said it worked fine in Boston for 2 years, so perhaps it WAS the coverage. Anyway, they won't let me out of the contract. even I lost the signal twice on the call to cancel, and they still wouldn't listen. While I'm here, I'd like to share that Sprint has far and away the worst customer service of any company - phone or otherwise - that I have ever seen in my life. They border on evil. They make the DMV look like the Maitre'D at the Ritz Carlton. Avoid them at all costs. Verizon and Alltel appear to offer the best coverage in Charlotte.
I have one or two bars... rarely three. And sometimes even with 3 bars I drop calls. Sprint reception is the worst! Not to mention I can barely use it in my home.
