Service is very poor. If driving within a 5 mile radius of the University area you can expect to drop calls in multiple locations. Talked to Cingular after AT&T purchase and was advised AT&T towers were sold to SunCom so service will not get any better. Also advised that they have more than enough towers in the university area and there is full cell coverage so there are no plans for improvements.

I read the Charlotte comments on here for Sprint PCS and it looks pretty bad. However, I have been a Sprint PCS customer since 1997 and there is one thing that kept me here. I believe when it came to good reception its having the right phone and the right network. Sprint has a lot of poor phones but I have had near spotless reception in Charlotte and all the way up the east coast to New Hampshire when I go to visit family. The Sanyo phones if you have the right ones are the key for me. I was actually surprised to see how all the poor comments about Sprint in Charlotte but, I wasnt surprised to see that nonbody had a Sanyo phone that had poor reception. Its been working that way for me for many years.

Have never had good reeception. Calls dropped nonstop. Maybe one bar in the house 2-3 outside but still poor reception when talking outside. Went to the Arboretum store and was told new tower would be up in January fully working by February... just got off the phone with Verizon and learned that the new tower is going up "sometime in 2006". Tired of paying 75 dollars a month for horrible service

Zero reception in my home and for 3 solid blocks from my front door. Cingular has been great in their efforts - we have talked to many folks there, even the engineers, but all in all we have no service.

Just got the phone and the plan yesterday as both it and the Verizon network were recommended by numerous sources. However, I've already missed 3 calls due to timeouts and lack of signal in my home. Not a happy customer thus far. One more thing to add: the Verizon manual(s) (the phone actually comes with two) for the Razr is very short on information and poorly organized.

Nearly no service in my house. Reception was perfect three years ago. I was so pleased after one year, I got another two year contract. What a mistake! Service has gotten HORRIBLE. Constant dropped calls. Un-caring customer service. NEVER AGAIN. Unfortunately, from what I am reading, I will have a hard time finding someone GOOD.

During the 4th quarter of 2005, my reception has declined significantly. When I first got the phone a year ago, I had super reception, no problems. Suddenly, my phone has become very unreliable. Sometimes 4 bars, sometimes one or two. I was considering dropping my landline, but now I'm increasingly using it more than my cell phone.
