I live in the Stowe Creek area off Shopton Rd West and Verizon service sucks. Sprint did too about 5 years ago, that's why we switched to Verizon. Verizon is poor too. I've called and complained in the past but nothing could be done. I can get text messages to go thru but struggle with picture messages. I have to walk to the end of my driveway to talk on the phone and even then, it's horrible. Doesn't make any sense... there was a new awful tree looking tower just placed behind my neighborhood that I can see from my street. Not sure who it belongs too though... not Verizon that's for sure or the tower is'nt working yet!Was this review helpful to you?
Reception great, but no 3g. Have to go to Gastonia or Gaffney to get that. :(Was this review helpful to you?
Terrible coverage. On iphone will show 3 bars 3G until an attempt to call or email. Drops to 1 bar 3g then 1 bar EDGE. The BB on EDGE drops calls at a 50% rate even if you stand in one spot for the duration of the call. Neither iPhone on 3G or my work EDGE Blackberry get a reliable signal. At home inside it's worse. I wouldn't recommend ATTWS in South Charlotte. Was this review helpful to you?
Queens University - Selwyn Rd.- Nextel Sucks bigtime. If you get enough signal to make a call, 4 out of 5 calls will be dropped before completion. Was this review helpful to you?
I'm warning you - Sprint is HORRIBLE in Charlotte; Signal and Customer Service. I had Sprint when I moved to 28209 5 yrs ago and had no service inside my home. Switched to AT&T and loved it everywhere I travelled (I own a Real Estate company so I'm everywhere). I built a home in 28205 and and switched back to Sprint because they are cheap and now have horrible service again(For some reason it keeps getting worse) and I don't get voicemails until 12-24 hrs later. I tried switching phones and customer service wants to charge me $100 for a 5,000 sq. ft. Booster for the home, but will wave a $6 / mo fee if I sign another 2 yr contract (If that doesn't work and I cancel I'll pay the waived monthly fees). Does this sound fair? I just need a phone that works. Hindsight is 20 / 20. They had horrible customer service 5 yrs ago and when I was signing up 4 mos ago 2 of their customers were complaining and cancelling. However, I wanted to save a couple $$ / mo. and now I have to pay a $200 cancellation fee which is worth it to have a working phone. Was this review helpful to you?
I get one bar if I am lucky, otherwise I have no service. I had to buy a 3G Microcell due to this. An AT&T store literally sits right across the street from me and they cant't help. They just say "We know this is an issue, would you like to buy a 3G Microcell" Good way to sell an additional product. This also speaks to their coverage. If they had good coverage there would be no need for the Microcell. Also, I updated my Iphone 3GS software and now my phone no longer gets decent reception with the Microcell. I'm switching from AT&T to Verizon when the new Droid X comes out. I'm happy to pay the cancellation fee for a phone that actually works in my home. Was this review helpful to you?
Always had good coverage there. 3G speeds: Download - 2500kbps Upload - 240kbpsWas this review helpful to you?
Service at the Stonecrest shopping center is a joke. Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint was fantastic in Charlotte until recently. I drop about 2 calls a year in Charlotte (good, imho) and still have great voice reception but my data has went from good to horrible since February. There are numerous spots around town where the data is amazing but in my neighborhood it's a joke (Actually it is fine from Lawndale east). I hate that this happened in the middle of a contract or I'd switch carriers. It seems that Sprint has turned towers off or they were repo'd.Was this review helpful to you?
