As of yesterday, I have no signal in my house. My phone signal shows 'SOS'. I called yesterday and spoke to customer service that claimed that they will have my service issue remedied asap. I went to sleep and woke up expecting to have a signal. More than 12hrs has passed and I still am unable to make or receive calls, texts, email or access the internet. I'm very dissappointed as my contract is effective for another year and a half and I've never had this issue with AT&T wireless in the several years prior that I've had them.

Reception is generally very good outdoors and in smaller buildings in Charlotte. I usually get about 4 bars everywhere in the city. I have also noticed a significant increase of service inside buildings on campus over the past 2 months. 3G speeds run between 2 and 4 Mbps.

In the Highland Creek area you can have your phone in one spot and see your bars constantly move from zero bars to 3 bars. Bad coverage here.

I rate coverage "3 - Average" because no one has good coverage here. I will say that the major reason I went with T-Mobile is the ability to make calls over Wi-Fi (phone specific) when cellular coverage is unavailable. Now, while in the presence of any local hotspot (Starbucks, etc.), or my home Wi-Fi, I am able to make / receive calls. Best yet, depending on plan the Wi-Fi calls are free!

Love my new Sansung Sunburst, but will be returning it tonight. Looks great, takes a good picture, but no reception in my office and drops calls on campus and on the road back to Concord each day. My KRZR works great, so I am digging it out of the drawer and will continue to use it until I can find a GOOD replacement.

Poor reception in my apt., constantly unable to make calls because phone says emergency calls only, dropped calls, poor reception. I've had multiple phone replacements, so it's the service. They want me to purchase some mini tower for my home that costs over $100.00 to help with the problem of no and poor service, can you believe it. I never had a problem until I moved here to Charlotte.

I have extremely poor reception in this area. I drop calls and can not send text messages. I went to the store and they told me it was the phone. We switched phones and I'm still dropping calls.

Moved to the area and rented a house in Aug '09. Did most, if not all, of my job search using my AT&T Tilt cellular phone. We're talking 10-15 calls a day for three months. Don't recall a dropped a call. Signal coming in 3G strong. Building a house in the same area now, and find cell reception there to be great as well.

Almost NO 3G coverage! If I'd known now what I know today, I'd have gone with another carrier. I should not have to move close to a tower to get good reception! Phone coverage is rarely above 2 bars.

Drop calls inside and have to be outside to talk. I've called them but get nothing from them to help, unless I want to get a booster that will cost me more monthly. I'm looking for another carrier and will pay the contract fee. Beware of the 3 / 4 G cards. Overage fees on 3 G are horrific!

I live in the Stowe Creek area off Shopton Rd West and Verizon service sucks. Sprint did too about 5 years ago, that's why we switched to Verizon. Verizon is poor too. I've called and complained in the past but nothing could be done. I can get text messages to go thru but struggle with picture messages. I have to walk to the end of my driveway to talk on the phone and even then, it's horrible. Doesn't make any sense... there was a new awful tree looking tower just placed behind my neighborhood that I can see from my street. Not sure who it belongs too though... not Verizon that's for sure or the tower is'nt working yet!

Terrible coverage. On iphone will show 3 bars 3G until an attempt to call or email. Drops to 1 bar 3g then 1 bar EDGE. The BB on EDGE drops calls at a 50% rate even if you stand in one spot for the duration of the call. Neither iPhone on 3G or my work EDGE Blackberry get a reliable signal. At home inside it's worse. I wouldn't recommend ATTWS in South Charlotte.

I'm warning you - Sprint is HORRIBLE in Charlotte; Signal and Customer Service. I had Sprint when I moved to 28209 5 yrs ago and had no service inside my home. Switched to AT&T and loved it everywhere I travelled (I own a Real Estate company so I'm everywhere). I built a home in 28205 and and switched back to Sprint because they are cheap and now have horrible service again(For some reason it keeps getting worse) and I don't get voicemails until 12-24 hrs later. I tried switching phones and customer service wants to charge me $100 for a 5,000 sq. ft. Booster for the home, but will wave a $6 / mo fee if I sign another 2 yr contract (If that doesn't work and I cancel I'll pay the waived monthly fees). Does this sound fair? I just need a phone that works. Hindsight is 20 / 20. They had horrible customer service 5 yrs ago and when I was signing up 4 mos ago 2 of their customers were complaining and cancelling. However, I wanted to save a couple $$ / mo. and now I have to pay a $200 cancellation fee which is worth it to have a working phone.

I get one bar if I am lucky, otherwise I have no service. I had to buy a 3G Microcell due to this. An AT&T store literally sits right across the street from me and they cant't help. They just say "We know this is an issue, would you like to buy a 3G Microcell" Good way to sell an additional product. This also speaks to their coverage. If they had good coverage there would be no need for the Microcell. Also, I updated my Iphone 3GS software and now my phone no longer gets decent reception with the Microcell. I'm switching from AT&T to Verizon when the new Droid X comes out. I'm happy to pay the cancellation fee for a phone that actually works in my home.
