We were former Cingular customers before Suncom ruined everything. Signal at our house went from 5 to near 0, and had too much time left on the contract to break it. Now T-Mobile has taken over, no improvement in the signal, and SMS took time to start working again. T-Mobile has not responded to my online support request I placed 4 days ago. I'm sure they're inundated by all the already upset Suncom victims. I went back to a T900 pager just so I could communicate at the house.
Service is worse since ATT took over Cingular. 3G is terrible! I usually have 1, sometimes 2 bars on Notchview Ct. Inside house - service is unreliable. The line of terrain all the way down the creek to McMullen Creek is a dead zone. The worst is if you have 1 bar of 3G and try to make a call... Probably will drop in transition to Edge. 2 years ago I had 2 bars - reliable service. Something stinks with the new management.
I have never been in a place that has 0 bar! AT&T should get sued for advertising that they have more bars than any other provider. Alltel has great reception in the same apartment.
never have reception problems at home in Ballantyne area. There are only about 3 areas in Charlotte that I ALWAYS lose connection - that are very consistent locations (one spot on Morehead by downtown, one spot on Sharron Rd close to Wendover). I don't like the fact that I may not get a text or voice msg for 30 minutes approx after the sender sends it to me. My biggest complaint is I go ZERO service up in the Mountains - Roan Mountains / spruce pine / Bakersville / Little switerland - and we go there every weekend, so I can't ever use my cell on the weekends up there (it's just worthless). Wish they do something about that. As I am a 24 / 7 hour IT professional the cell phone service is mandatory for me. In Charlotte it works 95% great, in the mountains 0%. But my boyfriend gets service from his Sprint cell in the mountains.
Cingular coverage in this city is ridiculously horrible. Dropped calls continously. Anyone moving to Charlotte should plan on changing cellular service or deal with the constant frustration.
Reception totally sucks. Where's the network? Verizon could care less. Anyone for a class action suit, the service doesn't live up to the ads. No good at all inside house, very marginal outside.
THE WORST! Tin cans with a string would probably be a better choice. Tried different phones, always getting the same miserable reception, if at all. Voice mails arrive 2-3 days late. My contract with Verizon ends August 7th, 2008. It will be a day of celebration!
