Every day on my drive home I pass this intersection on top of a small hill. The reception gets really choppy and at least one call out of three is dropped. Always in the same place. Sprint claims their dropped calls have decreased from 3% to 1%. I question that. I don't complain about my dropped calls because it's more trouble than it's worth and I never get any action. The last time I tried to call them to complain from home I had to use my land line because their area I live in is so poor the operator was unable to understand me. Golly. Every so often I look at their map of coverage to see if my problem area is listed for upgrades. Nope. Sprint ain't all it could be.
I have been using Alltel since my first phone (which was a bag phone, if you can remember that far back) and I have never had a problem, in town or out of town. I now have the Motorola razr and good service continues. Other family and friends have had other services and had all kinds of problems, switched to Alltel and everythig is fine. Everyone keeps using my phone because their service is so crappy.
actually I have several bars but I'm always dropping calls and when you look at the Ant. meter it shows good reception..Get away from the house and the phone does well but not in the house...
sometimes have to go outside of my home to receive service. Verizon knows about problem and told me they would release me from my contract because they have no intention of fixing problem.
I am on the top floor of an apartment and have to stand on my balcony to get clear reception. Occasionally I'll see full signal but it disappears as soon as it shows up. At least I avoided the $400 iPhone temptation and went with the free Nokia. I'll eventually have to get a land / cable line if service doesn't improve. That's cheaper than falling on the sword and switching carriers.
The combination of Verizon and Mororola has given me the best reception. I can make / receive calls from in the house and outside. Verizon also works well traveling to / from Pittsburgh even in W. Virginia.
Couldn't be happier - Verizon service and reception is great (and I swear, I do not work there!) Never lost a call in Charlotte / and love their online features where I can examine my monthly cell phone bill a bunch of different ways (sort by longest call / most expensive call / etc). It will even suggest another plan if it could save me money based on my usage patterns... Excellent all around.
Have pretty much no problem with Sprint / Nextel Reception in my area. Although When I travel to work up Providence Rd the reception is terrible the closer I get to uptown.
Our phones (2 nokias, 1 samsung) sometimes don't even ring here - we have from 0 to 1 blip / bar reception - and that is standing outside! AT and T says there are no towers at all near here. I think The Charlotte Country Club needs to give up some land for one of those "pine tree" towers...
