Sprint

My wife and I chose Sprint because of the low cost plans, but there is no way I can make you understand how bad their phone and internet reception is because it's a constant battle. We do not get reception in our home, or our previous home (have to talk near a window or on the patio). I own a company and my wife is in Real Estate and we do business in the Clt Metro Area and are price conscious consumers. We often lose phone calls while driving in Charlotte. Its rare to get 4G or LTE service. Most is 3G or less which means that the internet doesn't work. We've had Sprint for 7 years and have explained our issues to Sprint and they gave us a free Airave to boost our service, but it didn't work and actually hindered the wi-fi inside our home. We are fed up and have decided to pay $500 to cancel our contracts + the extra $30 / mo for phone and internet service that actually works with Verizon or AT&T. I can't tell you how many times we'll be with friends and everyone else has internet or phone service and we have none or ours just works painfully slow. Think about their business model - Their plans are very cheap, and they don't have more customers than Verizon or AT&T so how can they pay for a network comparable to Verizon or AT&T? I don't think they can.

I either have no reception or one to two bars of service at best. Crossing the city I can easily drop 5+ calls in 20 mins. The ONLY place that has perfect service is downtown. I live 5 mins from center city and I have no coverage at my house. Thankfully I buy extra internet to at least run my phone off wi-fi to notify someone in case of an emergency by text or email. My contract is over Oct 1st. I am shopping new companies. This has been ongoing for at least over a year. I would have changed before however I was in a contract. I also have spoken to other Sprint users and they have the exact same problem. You would think that in a city with over one million people we could have at least the minimum standard coverage.

Constantly Dropping calls all over Highland Creek. Sprint says they are upgrading towers should be fixed by end of day. That was 2weeks ago. At end of contract considering a change. I work from home need phone to work. Its costing me clients,

Good coverage for most of Charlotte, with some holes. I had a terrible LG prepaid phone so not sure if this caused the dropped calls or if it was the network.

Calls typically drop once I reach this area. Otherwise, good service the rest of Charlotte (which I will indicate in another review)

Trying to use the internet is is a complete waste of time!

Recently moved here and cell service is awful. Had the same service in Steel Creek area with wonderful reception. I can only text now. I think it is the lack of Verizon cell towers in the area or lack of any towers in the area. It may become necessary to get a hard line phone installed soon if things don't improve.

Poor reception. Can mark exact spots where my calls and signal drops like clock work.

Cell reception is very weak in the areas of South-Southeast Charlotte and around the UNCC area. Frequently on 1x (lower than typical 3G speeds) data. Calls are not clear at all.
