Inside the building where I work I get No Service and outside I get 1-3 bars. I will be changing carriers in a few months when my contract is up.

i didnt have any trouble with Sprint until about 8 months ago. I renewed contract for 2 years and recieved a new phone. Since then I have had no reception. I thought it was the phone so I had another phone activated and it still does the same. it is Sprint reception. My daughter and I live in apartment in Garner. we have to go outside to make calls and most of the time that dont even work. kind of scary if you have emergency and cant even call 911. I have called Sprint and have gotten no help.

I used to have Verizon and had decent reception everywhere except my house. I switched jobs and was given an AT&T work phone. I drive on 40 E and 95 S daily and probably 75-85% of the time I have 1-2 bars of reception. This is on two major highways. God forbid I have car trouble and get stranded in one of the many "SOS" zones that I pass through. Even at home I have 0-1 bars. I have to walk outside, just keep a steady 1 bar. I'm not sure how AT&T can claim that they cover 97% of America. I guess from Garner to Fayetteville must be the 3% that they do not cover. My wife has an iphone and might be able to hold a steady 2 bars at the house. I'm really frustrated with the service as this is my work phone and I often work out of my house. AT&T really needs to improve their coverage area, rather than focusing on trying to hold onto the sole rights of the iphone and ways to rip iphone users off.

There's obviously an Alltel employee posing as an average Joe submitting reviews on here... I'd bet that the two posts raving about how great Alltel is and specifically mentioned the "My Circle" plan, as well as the post from a supposed Verizon Wireless customer bashing them were all written by the same person - judge for yourself... C'mon folks, at least have some morals and personal ethics - karma's a b#tch...

As someone said before I have yet to go a place in North Carolina where I don't have reception with Alltel. Reception is great all over Raleigh and Wake county. I even get fair reception at Lake Gaston in the boondocks although sometimes the phone may roam on analog. With Sprint my phone constantly searched for towers. Alltel is great! I would never go back to Sprint.

I had Verizon, my phone just stop getting serivce weekend after Thanksgiving which was never good for any place except 1 mile along major highways between Raleigh and Charlotte, forget about South of Raleigh like Dunn, Fayetteville etc, however my husbands phone had 3-4 bars when he came home from Charolotte, he has a SC #. I got a new phone from Verizon with new software, still no service. It would come it just to go out again. So, I swithced to Alltel, now I have SERVICE, you know that thing we pay for. How great is that, real service with bars and dial tone and great voice reception. My son had it with him down in the rural area of NC, a place called Spiviy's Corner, and you guessed it, he had SERVICE on the ALLTEL. I did finally get a resolution to my Verizon phone, humm, they DON'T OFFER SERVICE to Johnston County, however my zip is Garner but I am a Johnston County citizen, born and raised. ALLTEL, IS MY PHONE OF CHOICE. My question is just how much does the type or model of phone plays in getting no, good or great service. Service in my case means bars of signal, not cameras, itunes, mp3, or anything like that since I have camera and a mp3 player and would not consider a phone with such features, after all what is with that, my washer doesn't dry clothes, so my phone shouldn't be taking pictures. I want a phone that would use that power to hit / find a tower for service. Which is what I think I have found with ALLTEL. ---SERVICE----
