Had Excellent Reception from Shew Hollar Rd.on Abington Road, Fairview Drive, Harper Avenue, Southwest Boulevard, Connelly Springs Road, Cajah Mountain Road. 4G throughout Lenoir US64 NC18, and US321. Checked data speeds with 4G 8000 - 12000kbps. Wow fastest in Lenoir. Unfortunately no coverage toward Collettsville until you get on Hwy. 90 Collettsville Rd.closer to 321. Made a call from Wal-Mart in Lenoir never dropped a call all the way to Hickory, NC

I was very frustrated with Cingular. They usually had a good signal but I would get so many dropped calls and times I couldn't make a call because the tower was busy. I did some comparison shopping between Verizon and Alltel and Alltel gave more anytime minutes, had My Circle, some family plans with free texting, and overall seemed like a much better deal than Verizon. In a way this worried me, but I tried Alltel because of the 15 day trial and I am so happy I'm not paying more for fewer minutes with Verizon. The signal with Alltel is great all over the area. I don't have any problems at all making or holding a call anywhere. The signal is even stronger than throughout most of the area and my Cingular phone and is even better than co-workers at hospital that use Verizon. No problems at Wal-Mart or Mall either which was especially bad for dropping calls with my last provider. Absolutely no problems here or on the road with Alltel and I'm loving the service. If you live in Lenoir, I've been convinced that Alltel is the way to go.

Very good service in my home, almost always 4 bars. Downtown Lenoir is very well covered, as is the area between Hickory, Wilkesboro, and Lenoir. Overall, very good service; the best in the area from what I've heard.

The Alltel wireless package that I currently have cannot be beat for Value... there are a few weak spots I encounter, but it's nothing I cannot overcome. Most of my friends use Verizon and are very happy with their service, but they are paying $15-$20 a month more in fees to have reception in areas that they hardly use. That is $180-$250 a year more they pay than me... And I have no problem calling any of them using a different wireless provider and they have always been able to reach me with their provider. My friends need to buy stock in Verizon and get some of their money back.

Just dropped my Sprint service after a week. Too many dead spots and weak service areas. Anyway, my wife has a Verizon Wireless phone (Samsung A650) and I thought I'd give them a try with their Motorola E815 phone on a FamilyShare plan. I am amazed! This phone cannot seem to find a dead area or drop a call! I cannot believe this! We were driving down Union Grove road today, off the Connelly Springs road, and my wife's Samsung A650 kept going down in bars and hit a few dead areas, but my Motorola 815 took the licking and kept on ticking to at least 2 bars, but most of the time I had 3 or more bars. If you get Verizon and you live and / or travel a lot in and around southern Caldwell County, get the Motorola E815, nothing else. On a side note, I was afraid that the 815, since it was an all digital phone, would have to be sent back for a tri-mode phone. Boy, am I ever wrong.

Great reception, overall, all around city limits of Lenoir and surrounding area. However, this is considering that you do not count on the dropped calls, which is seemingly a trademark of Cingular.
