I tried Alltel hearing from a few people they were really good around here and I was really surprised at the dramatic improvement I got in coverage after switching from at&t. The calls sound clear, and the signal stays strong throughout this area, usually 5-6 bars on my phone, but also once you get out into the more rural areas where AT&T dropped off really fast I've found I always have enough signal to make a call. I have been very happy with the service so far and the my circle unlimited calling to any 10 numbers is a great feature.

Only a few places in the house we can get reception. Everyone in the neighborhood keep complaining to ATT. Verizon is fine in the area. (Although spotty around the lake at the very bottom of the valley).

You will drop a call EVERY TIME once you get into the neighborhood. My parents also have Cingular and live in this neighborhood and have this exact same problem.

I switched to Cingular because my spouse's company phone switched to Cingular. The signal is unfortunately very weak whereas the Verizon signal was incredibly strong. Calls are passable on upper floor but nonexistant in lower and garage and they were 100% clear with Verizon. I hope they'll invest in additional strength or I'll have to switch back and pay to talk to my spouse.

I understand I live in a remote area, but AT&T broadcasts a fairly strong signal. I never get more than a bar, and when I do it either cuts out or switches to roaming. I am switching to AT&T. I have found the signal around Clemmons and Winston has gotten worse in the past year.
