Sprint's data and text package is what lured me. They gave me a femtocell for my house and that improved things only at my house. Going to give T-Mobile a try.

Biggest bunch of thieves in the u.s. Your bill with Verizon be outragous coverage is good in most areas but price for service is way out of line looking for a less exspensive alternative

Calls are constantly dropped, whether outdoors or indoors. The signal just fades away. It's maddening to have to pay for such poor reception. Doesn't sound like any of the other carriers have any more to offer, unfortunately.

In the bonus room over the garage I can get two bars. Good enough to talk to family, but not good enough for a business call. In other areas of the house I get 0-1 bars. I can use my smartphone as a camera, a gps, a music player, a Spanish-English dictionary. Everything except a telephone.

It is REALLY frustrating that I cannot get good reception at my house. It is barely usable. Other comments indicate signals are weak here and Verizon not intending to improve.

The service is not functional in the house and can barely get by outside. It is 0-2 bars and constantly varies in that range. I even tried their Network extender which you must pay for and it ultimately didn't help. I was advised by Verizon that I could opt out of my contact with them because they acknowledged that I was in a very low signal strength area. They also advised me that they were not going to do anything about improving it either. FYI.

Pretty Good. Only one dropped call in last 3 months and I don't think it was my service. Blackberry Curve with Everything plan from Sprint. I switched from Verizon due to cost and my service is definitely better and faster now. Happy.

Acceptable on 51, but in and near my house within Sardis Plantation I can not use my Sprint phone.

The reception is very inconsistent. On a given day the reception can be exceptionally clear and on other days no coverage. The majority of time the reception is below average to poor. Many times we need to go outside to get a connection. With the wide use of cell phones, it would be nice if the technology indicated which phone was causing a bad connection when talking between two cell phones. At times, the fault may be the other cell phone. With our service the bars move up and down during a given call.

Always loose calls at bottom of the hill

Sprint's new Powersource (hybrid) phone rocks! Great signal in house for the first time in years, plus the Nextel radio part seems to work faster than before. Two Thumbs way up! Got it at the corporate Sprint store near the Costco in Sycamore Commons.

I've alerted AT&T (Cingular) many times that the signal is low in my neighborhood. I'm right next to the baseball fields. After 2 years the situation didn't get any better. I'm using Verizon for my personal phone, but my work phone is AT&T, so I still experience the same poor signal. My sister's iPhone doesn't get any signal at all in my house.

Sometimes lose a call or it never goes thru when dialing out, but generally good reception. I usually reboot the NAM system and it finds a good signal.

No problems to speak of. Reception is good and very few dropped calls. Once in a while will receive a voice message from a call that never rang but that is few and far between, Overall, Verizon has been providing good service.

Sprint has very poor in house reception with Sanyo and LG Phones (low end phones)

Have been with Nextel for ten years. Reception is the worst ever! Since Sprint boughtout Nextel- more dropped calls, inability to use direct connect, tons of dead zones- even in dowtown Matthews. Text messages are received days late. Will leave when contract runs out but have no idea which comepany will be better.

Terrible service, can not even work from the house.

Unless it is really windy outside, we've gotten great reception for the past 4 years on our Motorola and LG phones.

I moved here from the Northeast and rarely had a problem with reception, even in the mountains of ME. I go from 2 to 4 bars in my home here in Matthews, depending on which room I'm in and which direction I'm sitting or standing. There's a big problem with breaking up and dead and dropped calls. I thought I might need a new phone (as it's 2 years old). After reading the other entry on this site, the phone may be fine; it may just be the area!
