I like other users have had Verizon for years. Recently when they merged with Alltel my service went down the toilet. I use my cell phone for my landline. I have spend hours in the Verizon store, online with customer service and even sent letters to their customer service department and to date I still cannot receive or make calls from home. I plan to contact Don Griffith of Action 9 to see if he can help us. Verizon customer service is no more!

Many areas of Union County have 0-1 bar. The service floats in and out unless you are in Monroe where even there it varies at times. Now that Alltel is part of verizon, many of the Alltel users are now having similar problems. Verizon swears up and down "there is no problem".

When I am in my home or my car, I have horrible reception, until I am almost in Hemby Bridge.

Called Verizon and told them about poor reception. Advised to update software by dialing *228. No improvement. Reception was ok in 2004 and has steadily worsened. Cannot take calls from home on my cell at all and I need cell for work! Verizon support is no help. Looking to change carriers if I can find something better. We're not in the backwoods--just 17 miles from Charlotte!

While at home, cell phone reception is missing or poor at best. I must drive 1 / 2 away from home to get reception. I live in a lower elevation which I suspect is the cause for the lack of signal. I do not have a problem receiving the local AM station on my land line! Great phone service from Verizon - wired and cell.
