The 4 out of 5 is outside. And that changes it bounces up and down like a pinball machine most of the time! In the house it is 0 bars! Except in the windows of the north side of the house! If we put the phones on the ledge in the middle of the window we get 7 bars that is the # of bars my phone has on it 0 to 7! My husband's has 0 to 6! So when we are at home we have to leave the phones in the window to have enough bars so the phone will ring! But if we pick up to answer or make a call it drops to 4 bars, or lower but we have to stand right at the window to anwser or make our calls! So we bought a zBoost zPersonal cell phone Signal Booster. (It is really a repeater!) Put it in the window and brought the signal in to the house about (11 feet) BUT we have to lay the phones right on top of the black bar antenna to get full bars! and if we pick up to make or answer a call the bars drop down to 2 or 3 bars! so we have to leave them where they lay and use the speaker phone! All the repeater did was make it so we don't have to run as far to answer the phone when we are in the kitchen! All in all this CELL PHONE THING SUCKS! and WE ALL ARE PAYING TO MUCH $$$$ for BAD PHONES! BAD RECEPTION! BAD SERVICE! and BAD PLANS! We all are getting phone poor while these CELL PHONE COMPANIES rack up BILLIONS!

Absolutely no problems in the last two years with this phone.
